The figure of £24,000 could be a wind-up but the thought of us paying anywhere near that sort of sum, whether as one lump or by installments for a man whose current team lies where it does defies description. Maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture.

Where did you get that figure from barrowfan, your just making it up. Re: New Manager
My god you lot must be bored... 45 pages of rumour and counter-rumour and STILL you get bites.... Sick of all this crap now lets just get the answer and put this to bed. If it IS Edmondson, remember when he was here as caretaker he did quite a reasonable job.
I just hope it is sorted soon before it pi$$es more prople off and drags the crowd even further down.

its simple really just don't agree compo let him stay in charge until they have to sack him and then bring him in free.

Re: New Manager
This just gets dafter by the minute.
I totally understand why clubs have to pay compensation to other clubs which is the asset (manager or player) is classed as valuable.
Now, no matter what the compensation amount (which will only be low) we are taking an "asset" that their support don't want, their board don't want & half of the Barrow support don't want & the half that do want him admit he's not ideal & is a gamble........incredible!

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: New Manager
This soap opera will be knocking Coronation St, Eastenders, Emmerdale etc. off the ratings shortly. If the rumours are true I also think the BoD are running a hell of a risk with this appointment, if it goes wrong the damage will be irreparable, if it goes right it will be a stroke of genius. It’s a sizeable gamble and using the vernacular, they have been on a losing streak since the redevelopment was scotched.

Re: New Manager
This is what you'll get from Edmo
He's a good man manager - the players like him and he creates a happy camp
He has good contacts - he's brought in some good loan players for us over the last few seasons which have helped keep us up
He plays rotten football - lumps it up to the front man for the midfield to support - or long balls down the channels
He can't organise defences, we always concede at set pieces and have done throughout his charge.
I have no axe to grind as we are screwed whatever as most of our best players have left in the summer and no doubt he'll come back for the rest , he has good and bad points but I think he's been lucky that he inherited a core set of good players, jonny wright, Kyle may, Gary rowntree etc all of who have either left or are now over the hill.
Part of me wants him to stay cos I think he's our best option to keep us up, but part of me is fed up with his style of football and the same excuses week in week out

Re: New Manager
Bit of a daft question and has probably already been asked but why hasn't Edmondson resigned from his post as Workington manager if he wants to come here?

How much is compensation for being rubbish?

Will Edmo have to stay in a loveless relationship?
What if a football match breaks out and we have to stop watching our screens for two hours?
