Where have I verbally abused him? I thanked him for his efforts and his goals for us. I called him a C**t, yes. Abuse? I think not.
Most fans OFF HERE have been calling him Judas - which may have been more appropriate.

Would you respect someone who lied to you?

I think the response he receives if/when he appears for Tranmere at Holker Street will be a good indication of how most of our fans regard him...

Where is the proof he lied? Calling someone a [SwearFilter] is abusive IMO.

"his preferred option is to try and pursue a career in the football league" - did he try? Signing for another club in our league before June suggests not.

agreed, its obvious Cook has gone for more money and i dont knock him for that football is a short career after all. But saying he wanted to play in the football league was lets be honest untrue. Andy Cook just wants as much money as he can get and should have just come out and said it end of. Most level headed fans would have just wished him well but now he might get some stick when he plays back at Holker street. He is not the sharpest tool in the box is he.

That is what someone else has quoted him suggesting. They didn't even say 'Cook has said he will not sign for another club in this league'. He has come out and said he didnt say anything like that. Calling him a [SwearFilter] and a liar on the basis of that is pretty harsh IMO.

Well he's gone now - the club / local media / / / manager / chairman - indicated that he had a peference to play in the football league and it was implied that he'd If it was to be non league he would stay at Barrow - there has clearly been so misunderstanding somewhere - but he's gone now and I can't wish good luck to player in the same league as us- they are rivals - last time he left he did so to a club with different ambitions to us. They wanted to go up, we wanted to stay up.

Cynical people might say his agent used the situation and chose his words to get as much move for Cook as possible - making the right noises to us etc - but that's his job

I hope when he plays against us he has a stinker - I hope Tranmere have a worse season than us and I think it's time to move on.

Personally I don't believe that a single word written purporting to have come from Andy Cook or even that has appeared on his Twitter account has actually come from Andy Cook. So I'm not sure that there is any point in trying to make him accountable in any way for the words that were so carefully crafted on his behalf. The only thing we can be (reasonably) sure of is that he was happy to choose Tranmere over Barrow. Most seasons we'd accept that without much comment. The fact that we are (on the pitch) in the best condition we've been in for years and could afford to pay him the going rate (and a bit more) is what makes the decision - at this time and on the face of it - odd.

"ODD" however is clearly part of Andy Cook's decision making process. Andy does "odd" really well and his "oddities" have been commented on regularly over the years. Its time to accept that though maybe a little irrational, perhaps illogical and certainly odd, this decision is very much in keeping with Andys track record and I don't believe for a moment was meant as a sleight to BAFC or its supporters. I suspect Paul Cox is more bemused than angry.

So he wont be a Bluebirds legend and for some of us that's disappointing because he had a lot of the ingredients of one. But there's very little about Andy to really dislike so I wish him well and as an ex-pat thank him for making some long journeys more bearable. Time to make this story (at least for the moment) tomorrows chip paper. There's more interesting things going on.
