Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
Think maybe all of us who are truly bothered about the club ( I exclude Azalea and Pedro) should take stock for a moment.
Can't think of anyone who was able to predict Cox leaving. It was a shock. The reasons (to which none of us, rightly, are privy, so speculation is rife) at first worried me. I thought there was a chance the Cassons were about to bale. I wrote a post saying silence from them at this time would be their worst enemy.
I was very pleased, as a supporter, to read the statement. I'm not too bothered about the detail, but the most important thing was that implicit in it was a desire and commitment to the future from their point of view. We can only take things at face value, and if that indication of continuity is wrong, and made deceitfully, then Mr C and those closely connected to him will deserve the vilification which will follow. If you believe he is still wholly committed to the club, as his statement implied, and he can and will provide the funds which are open to him as owner, under a new manager, then we should trust in him, and let him get on with appointing someone capable. If it all turns out to be empty rhetoric and we are deserted by him resigning , I'll be the first in the queue for the answers. In the meantime, if we truly support the club, we should get behind him, even in a guarded way, until he proves otherwise.

That could mean Swarthmoor have one win as well. Very misleading like most of your rhetoric. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 11:00 amJoint top of the League at the moment. Whilst Barrow have 1 win![]()
Oh by the way in case you have taken your eyes off the ball due to your fervent posting on here, the one Barrow win so far is one more win than a certain team that does everything right in your opinion.

I think Id rather be a F ylde fan at the moment. Stability over uncertainty any day. Planning and Implementation over Hopes and broken promises. F ydle weren't forced to sell their best players like Barrow. They've got a CEO, a new ground and over 1000 season tickets sold. The manager hasn't walked away because his chairman won't back him.

True but I think some folk get way too far ahead of themselves with it all. I just want to watch Barrow home and away as much as I can and all I know is things have been just great - not perfect - but way beyond what we have had for some time under Paul Casson. Dull it never is!!glasgow_blue wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 10:53 amI realise that WG and i welcome the statement ( even though it makes a mockery of the no further statement on this matter statement ) but what happen's if the new manager comes in, assesses the squad and believes the best way to achieve promotion is playing the same style of football as Cox? He goes on to achieve promotion, is this deemed success or failure by the owner, as the manager has only hit 1 of 2 targets? Very few sides win promotion from this league playing pretty footballWintergreen wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 10:36 am
Yes it's his way or the high way - there are a lot of bosses, CEOs Managers etc. like that, in fact I would say it is the norm, they want results and they have to do what they think appropriate to achieve those results.
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

Thanks Ian , so people ask for a statement then cut it to shreds I'd say that Paul Casson / Paul Cox both have their fault's but at the end of the day if it was my money I would call the shots as for people calling people liars be careful Oysten took someone to court over certain statements I'm not against free speech but even a former member of this forum doesn't go that far!

Well go away from the forum and be a Fylde fan. It's obvious you just want to be nasty and divisive at every opportunity on here. What's the point of being on, and on so often? It appears to me that your overinflated ego is in a constant battle with your inferiority complex. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 11:08 am6 games in Cuthbert. Perhaps you'd enlighten us (those who are irritated by you, of which clearly there are many) , as self proclaimed "king of the forum" (what a puerile observation) what your purpose is behind posting on the forum of the club you don't support?

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
IMO A lot of it is our standing within the game & our standing on the map, We can not change where we are on the map but as our standing in the game rises (hopefully this continues) it gets a little easier each season to attract the players we want, However if we have a revolving Managers door, That could change.Kieran wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 8:21 amI'm not having that, Cox clearly missed out on quite a large number of players that he wanted. Of course that sometimes happens but in this case I think there's more to it than those players simply turning us down for their own reasons. I've no doubt whatsoever that we're still paying very decent wages. I'm happy to accept that we're spending more than last season, but not on the players Cox really wanted.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 11:59 pm I think we can assume that the wage bill rose because Coxy got the players he wanted, it was his budget, he used it as he saw fit but he wanted more players...where does that end?
Was it due to those players being out of reach of even the current budget? Was it due to too much interference from above having a say on what players we brought in? Was it due to Casson not answering his phone so players went elsewhere? I'm not sure, but there's no way Cox got the players he wanted.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
That statement read like the things Casson should say, not what Casson actually believes.
If 7th, 3rd round and a QF isn't good enough then unfortunately there wont be many long term managers. Also, I am not sure you can disagree with a managers philosophy and then hire said managers assistant of many a year to replace him.

And on the 7th day god created football

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
I'm assuming he meant last season it wasn't good enough but with 7th granting a play off place it would be deemed good enough this time around.
