Sounds like a great effort by all who were there I dont go in the crossbar much but didnt realise the place had fallen into a bad state of repair rooms unable to be used thought under Casson the main building would have been kept in repair obviously not.

The rooms weren't in disrepair, they just needed freshening up and a bit of TLC. Pictures put back up on the walls etc. A fresh coat of paint and new fixtures worked wonders.
The decay is outside the crossbar in the ground itself. A crumbling structure that paint isn't going to fix.
Years of no maintenance has taken its toll.
However I do think Barrow fans are at their best when our backs are to the wall and all pulling together. The camaraderie and banter was back on Sunday with everyone beavering away.
I wish I had been the £77 million euro lottery winner.
We can only work on and do our best.

If anyone would like to help out this weekend we’ll be at the ground on SATURDAY morning, this is because quite a few have asked to move it due to Remembrance Sunday.
As usual, we’ll open up at 9:00am but just turn up at whatever time suits. We’ll be there till about dinnertime.
Once again Tge Bob In Cafe are supplying bacon or sausage sandwiches, tea & coffee will also be on offer.
Thanks to Binny J, Al, and IRVJ this week for carrying on with the painting, skimming walls and transporting materials ready for this weekend.
Still plenty to do but jobs that will suit anyone’s skills (or lack of skills...)
Hopefully we’ll finish off what we set off to do last week, then we’ll see if people want to carry on in the future.

That's a great idea Adam. It could generate more interest and offers of help from a wider audience than just the forum.
I am dropping a letter of thanks off at the Bob-In cafe today. It's a very generous and much appreciated service that is offered and they deliver so we don't even have to go and collect them. Locals doing what they do best for the community.

All of the first team kit is currently being washed by a local laundrette who are a club sponsor. It’s also where the performance centre kits are washed.

Options are being looked at for new washing equipment at the club, but for now we have a perfectly adequate procedure in place to get them done.

Hardly a farce or an embarrassment, to be honest I doubt we are the only club in the league who are outsourcing their kit washing!

You are entitled to your "imo" just as we are entitled to our posts without your approval.
We need a new washing machine so what? Have you never had an appliance that has broken down beyond repair or just worn out?
Carry on posting volunteers as I am sure there are fans who want to help.us and the club in anyway they can.

We are a volunteer group. We work with materials donated and use financial donations to buy the things we don't have.
If we have donation then that's one less thing the club has to buy. We are trying to improve our football club.
I stand by my post.

Totally disagree, if someone sees something that needs doing at the club, why not ask for help? It wasn’t great seeing what needed to be done the other week but without posting about it we wouldn’t have had nearly thirty people turn out last weekend and twenty plus yesterday.
Lots of clubs at this level rely on assistance from their supporters, why should we be any different?

As mentioned, another fantastic turnout yesterday and another great mornings work (well, it went well into the afternoon actually)

Lots of work still going on in the top foyer which is nearly finished.
The can/bottle/pie (yes, PIE) bar is taking a bit longer to finish than we thought, mainly down to the odd shape of it meaning we can only have two people in there working at a time. It might not be 100% finished by next weekend but it’ll hopefully be functional.
The Legends room has had a bit more work done on it and is now a very much improved area from a few weeks ago. If you are thinking of doing a corporate, please try it, we’re sure you’ll see and enjoy the improvements made.
The third corporate room is next and that needs completing ASAP as the corporate bookings appear to be on the up.
These projects have all been done to try and increase the amount of people using the club pre-match, HT and even post match, which is obviously very important at the moment.

Jamie Reid was there helping transport materials again (I managed to dodge last weeks “experience” of accompanying him this time)
Paul Hornby once again popped in to meet the volunteers - he’s asked me again to thank everyone for the work being done, the materials being donated and the cash supporters have given.
On the subject of cash, thank you to everyone who is still donating, from the ones running into several £100s to the tenners - it all helps. We’ve also had a very kind offer off a man to supply materials that we’re desperate for, that allows us to use the cash raised in other areas.
One more thank you, The Bob In Cafe once again supplied and delivered all the bacon/sausage buns. A very nice touch which is greatly appreciated.
