Someone posted this picture on here a few years ago. Time for a repeat. I was stood right in line with McAdams' shot, in the Holker End, it was breathtaking.

In 2002 Mike rang the club and asked if he could come to Barrow and see where his father played, along with wilf livingstone who brought a wealth of photographs I showed him round the ground, also there was the guy who wrote his biography, he requested no publicity so it was as he requested, the mail took several pictures but can't remember if they published any but I have all the pictures but at the moment I cannot download them as I do not have the facilities, Mike gave the club a man city signed shirt and Nicky sent a Sunderland one, they were both auctioned at a club dinner I believe the man city one realised £250 don't know about the Sunderland one.

I bought the Man City shirt. It was'nt £250 though.It was more like £125, it was a long time ago. It was at the Lisdoonie Hotel and I was absoluteley rat arsed (very drunk). I was with 9 others from the company I worked for at the time. It was signed by City"s three greats at the time
Colin Bell, Francis Lee, and Mike Summerbee himself. It's been in a frame on my wall ever since. And yes I am a City fan.

Obviously I don't know your name but I was told Phil cowing bought it and gave it to Dave Ayres, one thing you did not mention was it was signed by George Weah, Mike summerbee said it was the only shirt signed by him during his short stay at man city.

Peter Shilton played in that Leicester side didn't he?

Shilton was only young but said he got the worse injury in football at that game when a Barrow player went down his leg and he need a dozen stiches.

I also have the Chelsea programme. Paid £6 for it just over 20yrs ago. Think Barrow played in red that day.

MATCH REPORT: Daily Express, Monday 12 January 1948: Little Bobby Campbell,
Chelsea right-winger, was No.1 man at Stamford Bridge, where Barrow made a quick
exit from the Cup. Campbell started off by making a goal for Ken Armstrong, once more
at centre-forward; .................'Bobby Campbell', than name rings a bell. I am sure there was a chap named Bobby Campbell that had something to do with the backroom staff when I started watching Barrow around 1969, along with another old timer called 'Jack Bagget.

I think Bobby Campbell was an ageing, small Scotsman who spent a lot of time at the club helping out with day to day stuff. He was a friendly bloke who may also have done some work on the pitch as well as tidying the ground etc. I can picture him in my mind’s eye. He had a black coat.

I'm not sure but I seem to remember that Bobby Campbell was the groundsman at some time. Certainly Jack Baggot/Bagget was either the trainer or the physio or both! They seemed to do more than one job in those days. In fact, I seem to remember that Jack left the soccer and went to work for the rugby before he retired.

Jack Baggett played for Bolton Wanderers in the 1920s ,and while he rarely talked about his football achievements one of the biggest disappointments of his life was being left out of the Bolton side that won the famous white horse final at Wembley in 1923.Jack had played in the early rounds and the semi-final but was named as a reserve for the final the days before substitutes, but only would have played in case of injury/illness before the game, David Jack had recovered from injury and play in the final ahead of Jack. David Jack scored in the 2-0 win over West Ham. Jack Baggett died on July 21st 1978 aged 76.
