Bolton have got a transfer embargo for another 12 months. I'm fairly certain that under the restrictions, they won't even be able to offer players as much money as Barrow can. Good luck to any manager building an entire new team under those circumstances.

Their forums mention it in nearly every post. It was for 2 seasons, and they've completed 1 of them so far.

Their ex-manager (Hill) said it was more restrictive than he thought as they can only register a certain amount of players, can't pay any fees (including loans), and salaries are capped (presumably even lower cap in L2).

I'm not sure what that makes Ian Evatt.

Evo is a choice based on looking at a league table and hearing some interviews on social media. Probably more of a fans shout that a football insider's opinion. We all love Evo but Ryan Lowe is who I'd want if I was a Bolton fan (based on the names touted). Ian needs to have a solid first EFL season with Barrow before he is a serious shout for big clubs.

There's even less logic for Ryan Lowe to leave Plymouth for Bolton than there is for Ian Evatt to leave Barrow for Bolton. Plymouth will be a league higher than Bolton next season and are a club with average attendances last season not much below Bolton's. I know there is a factor of Lowe being at Bolton before and it's possible he would rather live in the north than the south but, other than that, I see absolutely no reason he would take the Bolton job as it's a step down at the moment.

Bolton's natural level is about league one, which is where they've spent far more of the last 40 odd years than the premier league, also take away followings away and they only average about 8 000 at home, we will probably average around 3500 anyway, so not the massive club and step up everyone makes out

What a crock you write, we have spent 3 seasons in league 1 in the last 40 years, our average home gates are 12000 and that when we were rock bottom of league 1, so yeah I'd say we are a BIG club.

Hang on we had 11200 ST holders, and 13 years out of 140 in the bottom 2 leagues is not tinpot trust me.

Difference there is they THOUGHT they were big clubs, in reality none of them ever were, barring a couple of seasons for Notts.

I think that would be a tremendous offer, and I think your fans would wish him well and thank him.

i'd take those odds with a huge pinch of salt - Evatt was favourite for nearly every job that came up last season including the Rochdale one in League 1
