Board meeting was Friday evening and the statement came out Saturday. Forward plan needed to be agreed and ratified by the trust board before communication can be made.

It was in no way a reaction to anything posted on this thread, we always intended to inform our membership as soon as possible of the changes which have been made and the opportunities for members in the future.

The statement was written and posted as soon after the Trust Board meeting on Friday evening as possible.

Frazer (our Vice Chair) who was responsible for it has been extremely busy with work this week and was not able to get it posted online until last night. It didnt appear on here (an unofficial source, used only to help get the news across to as many people as possible who might not always look at our official channels) until, this morning as no-one was available to re-post it until then.

I am sorry if you feel this wasnt done quickly enough, but as you will know, volunteers only have so many hours in the day and other things do get in the way sometimes.

It makes me think back to the 60s when the only information about "the soccer" came from the Evening Mail. Apart from the occasional bit of what would now be called 'breaking news', like a signing, there would just be a weekly review or summary of Barrow AFC matters in the Friday evening or Saturday evening paper.

Basically, it seems to be everything that might be described as 'off the field'.

Can't we just leave it and accept that the Board, in whom we trust, have made a decision and it is pointless to discuss what could or might have been done instead, not to mention it being somewhat demeaning to the person who has been appointed.

Can't agree with you there Jim. Like a few have commented previously it's a valid subject to discuss on here. We're told to the point of tedium how it's 'our club' when we've been asked to dig deep into our pockets yet I personally think this is a bit of a backward step by the board. No one is above criticism and any position of such importance should have gone through a due process of application and elimination of fit and proper candidates. I don't know the lad who's been appointed but I would like to know who he is and what ideas he's got for the immediate future. Bit of openess wouldn't have gone amiss here imo.
