That's fine Richard but that was only posted after some of the comments above.

Re: New CEO
Board meeting was Friday evening and the statement came out Saturday. Forward plan needed to be agreed and ratified by the trust board before communication can be made.whitty1969 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:19 pm That's fine Richard but that was only posted after some of the comments above.

You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time!

Re: New CEO
It was in no way a reaction to anything posted on this thread, we always intended to inform our membership as soon as possible of the changes which have been made and the opportunities for members in the future.
The statement was written and posted as soon after the Trust Board meeting on Friday evening as possible.
Frazer (our Vice Chair) who was responsible for it has been extremely busy with work this week and was not able to get it posted online until last night. It didnt appear on here (an unofficial source, used only to help get the news across to as many people as possible who might not always look at our official channels) until, this morning as no-one was available to re-post it until then.
I am sorry if you feel this wasnt done quickly enough, but as you will know, volunteers only have so many hours in the day and other things do get in the way sometimes.

Re: New CEO
Something many forget, Richard, not only with voluntary organisations - such as the Trust - but also with companies with minimal staff - such as the football club.
The voracious appetite for instant reaction nowadays, which has been fed by social media (including this type of forum), sometimes encourages remarks to be made without sufficient thought.

Re: New CEO
It makes me think back to the 60s when the only information about "the soccer" came from the Evening Mail. Apart from the occasional bit of what would now be called 'breaking news', like a signing, there would just be a weekly review or summary of Barrow AFC matters in the Friday evening or Saturday evening paper.
Re: New CEO
Forgive my naivety, but what does a football CEO actually do?

Re: New CEO
From the club's web site:
Basically, it seems to be everything that might be described as 'off the field'.Levi will work in collaboration with the Board of Directors and be responsible for all administrative and commercial activities at the Club.
It all comes 'round again.
Re: New CEO
I wondered if Ryan had been considered for the role? I don’t know what this role is going to include but Ryan has done a lot at the club over the past few years?

Re: New CEO
So has Russ, but that does not automatically make him a candidate for CEO
We're all supporters on here. Let's leave the negative comments to the away fans
Re: New CEO
Can't we just leave it and accept that the Board, in whom we trust, have made a decision and it is pointless to discuss what could or might have been done instead, not to mention it being somewhat demeaning to the person who has been appointed.

And I didn’t say Ryan was automatic either - just a questionRoadrunner wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2020 9:00 amSo has Russ, but that does not automatically make him a candidate for CEO

Re: New CEO
Can't agree with you there Jim. Like a few have commented previously it's a valid subject to discuss on here. We're told to the point of tedium how it's 'our club' when we've been asked to dig deep into our pockets yet I personally think this is a bit of a backward step by the board. No one is above criticism and any position of such importance should have gone through a due process of application and elimination of fit and proper candidates. I don't know the lad who's been appointed but I would like to know who he is and what ideas he's got for the immediate future. Bit of openess wouldn't have gone amiss here imo.
