I think you misunderstood his post - he's saying Platt is signing for us not for Bolton - If he was signing for Bolton he would have been announced by them at the same time they announced White....

Probably because he was a good player. Shame his legs didn't work much.

Signed in the summer before we went up, when we successfully bought the league title thanks to big Papa Cass. Think we signed izak Reid at the same time who I'd forgot about.

Yep had already secured Dan Livesey and also it was the second coming of Andy Cook.

We obviously need some squad depth (loans will help with that I’m sure) but in terms of the starting 11 what do we still require? Another top centre back is a must; then a creative midfielder and a striker?

The only glaring gap in the first XI is a creative midfielder, although when Rooney left, Dunn said he was planning to play slightly different to Evatt in that respect. We might have two defensive midfielders (Jones and Beadling) with Hardcastle ahead of them in that case.
It's encouraging that we've already got a decent starting line-up with every position covered - it's just about strengthening one or two positions now.
