Junior Brown was on trial yesterday

Doesn't have a bad record so surprised hes available on a free but would give us extra cover at the back but bit weird if we've offered Brown a contract already and had J.Brown on trial?
Thats the trial games done (someone did mention an in house match this week) but I'd assume thats to work on the starting 11 against Derby. I've read a post that Blackpool are going to release a few players (financial situation) so maybe the talk of the Striker might be a free signing rather than a loan? But we definitely need another goal scorer in the team (striker) but this could happen over next few weeks of the window being open.

My only concern with the squad is that we don't have another striker in the Quigley mould. I can't see James, Angus or anyone else in the squad contributing in the same way. This is not just to cover his absence during suspension, but as an insurance against any other absence during the season. I would guess we have been negotiating with strikers (Maynard perhaps?) and for one reason or another it hasn't come off.

I'd certainly welcome Junior Brown into the squad, particularly now if Bobby Burns is missing the first few weeks on the season. He's proven he is comfortable playing at this level (and higher), and offers more versatility to our squad.

Agreed with our striker situation. It's slightly concerning at the moment.

Just because we haven’t had one trialling doesn’t mean he isn’t looking at people - he has said in two interviews I’ve done with him that he is after another forward

Yeah i think he'll be looking at a forward possibly on loan so wouldn't be shocked (as previously mentioned) if hes from Blackpool or Blackburn. If there were any reasonable goal scores on a free i think clubs or ourselves would have looked at them by now. We migjt be in negotiations to buy someone but I'd be shocked if no forwards arrive
