This for me jonty, as I have faith in our forwards, and I like Jack, and hope he grabs his chance and shines,

Loan players don't have to be played as part of a deal. We've had lads on loan before, some play regular, some don't. If hes fit and scores goals then thsts great for us. Personally after watching pre season (couple of cup games against good opponents) then 1 league game im not full of confidence that James and Hindle will score many goals. Quigley and Angus for me will be our biggest threats but we could do with that extra player (if he can help the goal tally)

Appreciate your views but I see absolutely no need to bring in another striker at the moment as certain we have enough goal scoring threat and the goals will come. We’ll see after 10 games and if its not happening, then maybe then it will be addresses, but for now i see no urgency required to bring in any one else up front.

Well David Dunn disagrees with you as he has openly said we are looking to bring in another striker. We have been searching for ages but had a few knock backs...it isn’t for lack of trying.

What type of contract is Hindle on? I did not hear it was a one or two year one when he signed one so does anyone know?

Would be a big drop for him. He's been released by Cardiff so can't see him coming to one of the lower League 2 clubs. Most likely will fall in League 1.

Of the 5 strikers we have on the books, Angus and Quigley have forged a good partnership over the last couple of seasons, Luke James is his own signing and wasn't brought in to sit on the bench and he’s also deemed Hindle worthy of a contract. Penfold will get chances. Please tell me where this other striker fits in. The competition is there. We cant just keep signing more strikers. These players have to deliver the goals, as do the others in the side.

I think we need to be realistic and say Hindle is going to be a squad player, James isnt going to score enough goals and Penfold will be on loan to Altrincham by Christmas...

Totally agree to much put on Quigley if he gets injured ,has a bad spell where will the goals come from.
The only forward who has actually achieved been very consistent is Cowps

If you heard my interview with Dunn following the Blackpool game Penfold isn’t a striker - Evatt signed him to play as a central player but Penfold himself has played all his games as a winger hence Dunn using him as a wing back the last 2 games he has played him

He very much wants to bring another forward into the club

Completely agree. Angus has come on leaps and bounds since I first saw him at Woking last season but still misses far too many clear chances, particularly when one on one with the goalkeeper. He does have the priceless asset of real pace and is therefore a danger to teams at this level. Quigley is a top striker for League 2 and with decent service will be up with the top scorers in the league. Otherwise, I can't see anybody in the team who will score a decent number of goals.

Quigley and Angus as a partnership is fine for this league; you would have to be extremely lucky if they are available for the majority of league games this season though. We need another striker in the Quigley mode; Hindle and James are very similar, grafters but never going to get us 20 goals a season

'He very much wants to bring another forward to the club' - am sure that he does and is no doubt working tirelessly to do just that. As we know, players that can 'do a job', especially goalscorers, do not grown on trees and the individuals that will be perceived as able to 'fit in' further reduces the options available before any negotiation will open. Once a negotiation is in session, proposals can fall though for all manner of reasons. However frustrating this may be, we need to be patient and trust in the manager to do the job he is employed to carry out.
