I would have been more impressed if it was Tom Hiddleston of Night Manager fame.

Plenty of activity already in EFL 2 with 11 clubs having signed or loaned players. Harrogate going mad with 4 brought in plus Newport and Stevenage with 3 each and Bolton, Bradford City and Sc*nthorpe all with 2.

Yeah agreed, i did read that we are "active" behind the scenes so im hoping there are a few players in the pipeline but like stated other clubs have signed players this week so a lot of squads look stronger

Even more crucial after today that we bring players in.......but also that we don’t panic and bring the right players in rather than just anyone who’s available

PH already alluded to two new signings hopefully in place by Scun thorpe next week with 4 to 5 quality signings in total before the window closes.

Slightly random one but was there a reason no league club signed Tshmanga from Boreham Wood in the summer? He’s exactly the sort of quick direct striker we need alongside Quigley

I’d have taken their manager and the tall centre back Fyfield from BH too in the summer.

If there not playing in their current team, have no team at all or even from a lower league side plus ££££££ on offer and the potential is there if we sign a few decent players which improves the team then why not. Obviously some players might think no thanks but that happens even at bigger clubs. As long as who ever we get in is an improvement on the squad so far I'd be happy

Doubt we will be paying for anyone, probably be a few young kids who have never played at this level, therefore will take time to get used to it. Or somebody probably 30+ who hasn’t played in 6 month. Not holding much hope tbh.

I would certainly have taken the manager and a few of their players also. However, being realistic, I'm not sure we would attract players from the London area who would have to re-locate to the North with little financial advantage in many cases. However, I also don't like the Chairman's talk of getting in tried and trusted players from our league as, as far as I can see, that is what we did at the start of the season and I'm afraid we are at the bottom of the food chain in that respect and will attract nothing more than jouneymen who have been to half a dozen clubs previously and are more or less finished as league players. I'd far rather we went for loans from higher league teams and young up-and-coming players from the top Northern National League and National League North clubs who still have ambition and pace but for that to be successful you do need a manager who has good judgement of a player's ability. Carlisle seems to have used that method pretty successfully with several of their players.

I wouldn't say many of the summer signings were tried and tested, only Mike Jones, Nthle and Chris Taylor have spent any reasonable time in the EFL.
Popular side since '03.
