Plus the cost of removing everything that has been dumped under there over many decades. Waste building materials massive lumps of concrete etc shopping trolleys, unwanted tables and chairs, old advertising boards the list is endless. It is a mammoth task.

The manner off his reply deserved the reply that was given from me tbh. Thank you for the more rounded informed reply with sustenance not sarcasm.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:13 pmWhy do you have to try and be clever when someone is simply trying to be helpful and answering your question?
Have you taken the time to read up on what was required? Of course you haven’t, it’s a massive project. Just skimming over the surface - changing rooms of a certain size which need to include toilets, separate baths, showers, male and female officials changing facilities which have to include washbasin, toilets, showers. It also has to include a match day medical room and whatever equipment that requires...then there’s all the items such as tactic boards, fridges, ice baths etc etc etc. Plus you need to remember there is absolutely nothing in the way of services under there, everything has to either be upgraded or installed new. While we’re at it, let’s throw in the cost of design and planning permission,
So Whitty was right when he said you haven’t a clue.

I don't think Whitty was being sarcastic.
Not everyone types lengthy posts.
Thought he was precise and to the point.
Calm down for goodness sake. This lockdown has a lot to answer for.

Just a quick thank you to Derek Wilson (yesterdays Russ’s raffle winner) for once again donating a substantial amount of his winnings to the GMV kitty.
This, as with all the other donations including direct debits & cash people make to the account will be put to good use over the summer (hopefully...!). We have two big projects we’re going to be speaking with Kris Wilkes about over the coming weeks, so this cash will be a huge help.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

About 18 months ago we asked if anyone who had any empty pop/beer cans could save them for us as at the time we could cash them in to raise funds for the kitty, unfortunately this is something that the scrap dealer has now stopped doing.
So many many thanks to everyone who has dropped cans off in the past, and still do even now but reluctantly we’re now having to ask you to dispose of them in your own recycling bins.
Once again many thanks for taking the time and effort to help over the last year or two.

Hopefully also have some good news in the next few weeks regarding the funding of one of them.

A massive thank you to yesterday’s raffle winner - Frank Kerr who has donated a big chunk of his winnings to our kitty.
As we always say, we can have 300 volunteers but without donations topping up our account for materials we wouldn’t be able to take on any projects or even continue with the basic maintenance of the ground.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Is there any chance someone could change the national league badge with the efl version on the next game board on Holker St?

Painting the Main Stand Roof and Wilkie Roof to match the new coloured frontings would be a great visual improvement for the ground if it could be done

They have just been painted so won't be getting done again.PerthBluebird wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 3:25 pm Painting the Main Stand Roof and Wilkie Roof to match the new coloured frontings would be a great visual improvement for the ground if it could be done
A cherry picker is required and as the pitch is going to be relaid as soon as the season ends another reason why not.
They match the "Barrow Blue" inside the ground.
