Club to go to cashless payments

the Trust Shop and club shop are 2 entirely different things.

If this puts off even one elderly fan who’s been going to Holker Street all their life and supported the club through thick and thin it should be scrapped
I much prefer using cash myself, especially just for small purchases like a pint, or a burger at half time

That's me done. My time of going to Holker Street looks like its coming to an end.
I always use cash, its the only way me and my wife know. This is a really bad idea.

Personally not bothered as I prefer to use a card, and can easily survive a couple of hours without the need to eat and drink. However I can see that others are upset and that it might cause problems for some groups of supporters, so I was just wondering….

- Did the Club carry out a review to assess the differential impact of the policy on different groups and whether it leaves some disadvantaged or even discriminates against them?

- And if they did, can the Club publish the conclusions for all to see?

Shambles of a club. Where a working class club., how are 10 year olds who ask there parents for money on a Saturday going to turn up with there friends and pay with a card. For some people it's a spur of the moment idea when there young "let's go watch the soccer" but they can because they got cash and no card.
Thought the fans were on the board for a reason.

You’re the supporters trust, who represent us the members and the wider BAFC fans. We have a rep on the board and the people are not happy about this and here you are trying to use it to your benefit after lots of trust members have expressed their views on this. Embarrassing

£50 - FIFTY QUID - to load a child's card and to introduce it without ANY consultation with fans (the customers) is really bad. Glad I'm not a parent. I support the club in many of its decisions but this is very, very poor.

We need to all boycott buying if the club continues with this stupid idea, I have just bought a season ticket for myself and grandson that now seems a bad idea, my grandson wants to go on his own so he is expected to to have a credit card with £50 on plus his phone if he wants to buy a bottle of pop, some parents can not afford to put £50 on a card do we forget them ? I donated last year to the club and bought a season ticket with seeing very few matches and never asked for a refund another mistake. The club have shown their true colours and it stinks.

Re the Fairfax currency card for 'youngsters' - have they read the terms here ? Over 13 only via a linked card - so you need one for yourself and one for the child as a linked one - cant see people wanting to rush to have that hassle

I assume they will say that the parent has the card but if they then give it to someone else that usually means any issues of misuse are not the responsibility of the card provider

There also seems to be no spending limits functionality - on cards designed for kids such as GoHenry you can set spending limits so kids cannot blow all the money at once

Hi I’m a new member to this forum. Been a Barrow fan since I moved to the town. I have read his forum for a long time but never registered until now. The real reason, is that the club get charged when paying cash into the business account. If they go contactless they will save a lot of money. Anyone with a business account know that the bank charges for paying in cash.
I don’t agree with the cashless as it stops some of my family from watching the football. I was going to buy 3 season for me and my kids next week but now I’m unsure.

Straight away you disenfranchise a section of the fanbase. Some of these old fellas don't do social media and wont even know of this decision. They will turn up for the 1st league game of the season to be told to go to the ticket office, fair enough but when they get to the ticket office only to have their tenner turned away, do you think they will bother to come again?

The fact is al lot of people still only use cash. If this was a good idea the major supermarkets would all be doing this. They don't because they know they would lose a fortune.

This shows naivety from our CEO. This is why we should have taken on a business man in the role and not a fan who is a graduate. I say again this is BAD business however you look at it. You do not turn down any form of income, full stop.
