Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Apologies if this has already been suggested, haven’t been through the 11 pages on this so far.
How about having just one turnstile for cash only? Sure the majority of people will be happy to pay via card? Plus over 1,000 have season tickets so will be getting scanned in.
Or accept cash payment in the office/club shop for a ticket?
I’ll be happy paying via card when I go as I rarely carry cash these days, was delighted to discover the local buses now accept payment via card. However not everyone prefers to pay that way, so still need to be flexible. We need everyone we can get.

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
I've thought about this Steve could it be that they've signed contracts with Barrow Eats etc.. and have now got themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place, and don't know what to do ?Stephen Leonard wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:25 amI agreeJonty wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:14 am The argument is the introducing of it fully and immediately and with no phased approach where you can still use cash if you want to. The idea / move to cashless is the way we are heading - yes it is beneficial to club and fans and I think fans would get used to it very quickly and see the benefits.
It’s not the principle that’s the main issue for many but the process and timing of its introduction in a very black/white way with no leeway for those who either have genuine concerns or are wary or may have difficulties
I also think the complete lack of any further comment on the issue by the board is very poor - not many issues have united so many different sections of the fan base on here and other social media - the club could make things easy on themselves and simply say that they have seen the response and have taken stock and have delayed (not cancelled ) the proposal to take further feedback on board
Simple really

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
I understand the statement to suggest cash will be taken at food kiosks on match days but you won't be able to buy a ticket with cash on the day (only in the week), which again kind of stops kids turning up with some cash off mum/dad etc.
Progress but I personally think we should still be offering people able to turn up and buy a ticket with cash.

Barrow Eats - Order drinks for the fanzone to collect at half time, allows staff to pour pints just before the whistle and alleviate ques. Nothing to do with catering food ironically.
Fans will be able to go on to the Barrow Eats app from four hours prior to kick-off and order their food and drinks for collection in the Fan Zone at a designated half time slot
Food and drinks

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
Before making that accusation I think that it must be remembered that the trust director would not always be able to tell the rest of the trust members of every decision that is being made - his job is to raise issues and concerns and put a point of view across at the club board meetings - when a decision is made by that board then it gets put into action and Eve try one has to get behind it (collective responsibility similar to the Govt cabinet) . The trust director does not have the right or power to just starry discussing everyone talked about at club board meetings with other people
I think it possibly highlights the difference between what the trust members think his role is and what it actually is
Also if discussion were taking place last night between club and trust then it would be for the club to state that not the trust as it was the club who made the decisions
I don’t think criticising the trust as a block is fair in this situation
Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

Re: Club to go to cashless payments
I would like to thank the club for reconsidering their original decision to go fully cashless and also for apologising.I would like to call it a victory for common sense which has shown everyone that they are willing to listen to their supporters.Hopefully this can now be put to bed and we can all get on with suppprting Barrow AFC.
