Maybe because if a local news organisation had any information on it they would be publishing it. That's what they're there for!Hadrian wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 8:25 pmWhere does your perception of doubt in the ten year-old's recall, as expressed to his parent, come from?NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 5:49 pm So up to now, we have one ten-year-old kid who might or might not have heard something.
Nobody else on here, as far as I can remember, but how can you possibly make such a ridiculous statement about the remainder of those present or know what has been reported to the press or club, with an ongoing investigation apparently under way?NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 5:49 pmDon't you think it's very strange that not a single person in the other 2800 people there or in 7 pages on here or in the press or to the club have said they definitely heard what a goalkeeper with previous form is claiming to have heard?
'Previous form'?
No doubt the club wouldn't say anything because from the statement they've issued it's pretty clear they've been sucked in by the woke brigade/taking the knee agenda just like the rest of football has.
I.ll bet the one thing they won't have the balls to do is come out and say we.ve held an investigation found no evidence whatsoever so we've concluded the Colchester player must have been making it up.
But then if there are whispers you.ll have plod coming forward making conciliatory noises just like they did with the young lad at Carlisle after the Everton game and then when the rumours of a name start they.ll wade in and he.ll end up with a lifetime banning order. So much for free speech eh ? So long as the footy plod looks good and justifies his existence.
But i agree the poster two up is correct this is best put to bed now until there are developments [or not ] one way or the other especially before i say what i really think and someone uses a word they know nothing about.
But i.ll leave you with this thought. for years black people in the game moaned that there was inadequate black representation at management level yet there are now over 40% of players with a non-white European ethnicity [ against the median of 13% ] in the PL/EFL. Now, what do you think would happen if masses of white British kids thrown on the football scrap heap at the age of 16 and who felt they were being denied an opportunity in the game [like the black ex-players do ] did exactly the same ? Hell, the woke brigade would have steam coming out of their ears for months. One rule for one but not for the other. And the law of averages says there will be white players vehemently opposed to taking the knee but who are afraid to speak out fearing it would be the end of their career and whos speaking up for them i ask myself ?

Re: Not In My Town Not In My Club.
OK Andy. Incidents such as these, whatever the truth of the matter, are inherently bad for clubs who's supporters are implicated. There are no happy outcomes. Thus many are outraged by the thought of it, others don't want to believe it happened, whilst others see hidden conspiracy. As we all know, what then happens is that those with the strongest opinions will voice them on the forum as will those opposing at which point things quickly get personal and the essence of the subject being discussed itself becomes compromised. Before you know it you have several pages of nastiness.
In reality, what most of us would like - a definitive description of what actually happened - is unlikely to ever be forthcoming because its very doubtful that anybody will make a statement that would not be challenged. Unless its corroborated by several others of course and that is also unlikely. A pervasive stink will then remain over the club and its supporters enabling those who know nothing about the club, its supporters or the efforts of the local community to actually combat racism to reinforce their own biases about anything Barrovian. In reality, all you can do is to let those investigating do their work so we can at least complete this process, learn any lessons and move on.
There you go Andy. And having submitted an abridged three para essay, I truly hope we can put this thread into hibernation if not to bed. Though somehow I doubt it.

They may well have had an investigation and found no evidence, but it would be very presumptuous of them to conclude that it didn't happen on the basis of that. It's nothing to do with 'balls'.NORTHERNSOUL wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 10:03 pm

When its at the point police are asking for witnesses id imagine theres substantial logic behind that the accusations have some basis off truthxerxes wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 10:55 amThey may well have had an investigation and found no evidence, but it would be very presumptuous of them to conclude that it didn't happen on the basis of that. Re: Not In My Town Not In My Club.
I actually think some of the woke clowns on here want it to be true, so they can bang on about how sad the world is, people are terrible our club is shocking. Pathetic, it didn’t happen, the keeper heard the chant, but had to report it as a racist incident .
Re: Not In My Town Not In My Club.
And by 'woke' you mean 'anti-racist'.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 3:03 pm I actually think some of the woke clowns on here want it to be true, so they can bang on about how sad the world is, people are terrible our club is shocking. It's attitudes like this that make taking the knee so necessary.

So does that mean that non-woke is racist?Outcast wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:27 pmAnd by 'woke' you mean 'anti-racist'.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 3:03 pm I actually think some of the woke clowns on here want it to be true, so they can bang on about how sad the world is, people are terrible our club is shocking. That's not how the English language works...
But given that most dictionaries define 'woke' as an awareness of social problems, including racism, anyone who prided themselves on being 'non-woke' would raise my suspicions.
