I received a phone call to go to the club and cleaned all the seats in the stand as we had a game that nignt.
Back breaking work so much so I missed the game due to back issues----as in not being able to straighten up.
I hope they stick to the agreement

If you mean who I think you mean Mark that person did one row at the back of the stand and then disappeared to sit behind the reception desk leaving me to dispose of the bucket he had been using.McMark wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 3:00 amNot the only one Elaine, I remember Jonty and his daughter being in attendance also. I don't think there was any poor communication, Holkerbird just assumed it would need doing.McMark wrote: ↑Sat May 21, 2022 2:57 amAnd rightly so another bit of poor communication it would seem. Hope the event is a success but keeping house in order should always have been down to the organisers.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 10:20 pm I’ve just been told the Pitch Up people will be looking after the clean up.

That's right as litter picking has been carried out in the past by us.
Hopefully it will be cleared but I will be down there in the morning double checking.
I hope the Festival is a huge success and everyone has a great time.
Weather looks ok up to now.

As it should be worded in the contract that said hosting company is responsible for the cleaning then demand they honour the contract fully then I’d pay them fully…After cleaning is all done satisfactory…

Just got back from the pitch up, Oasis cover band were great, (loads of Barra chants as well from singer Paul Byrnes, getting the crowd going) fanzone was heaving all day, and a great event for the town with not much to do around here, but pitch looks a bit worse for wear, trodden in chips in the grass (seagulls will have their work cut out) smashed plastic, smashed glass outside on the street, must be getting old but BBCC and DGs aren’t really our cup of tea. Hope the club made a decent amount from it and the pitch doesn’t need a full re-lay. Met a Bradford fan there with his mates, thinks they’ll defo go up next year, he didn’t rate Canavan at all

Sounds like it has been a success and thanks for the report back.
At least the weather was dry.
I think the pitch is having work done on it close season anyway so they won't be concerned.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

The business is 3 young lads just starting out who were helping to clean up but eventually it was one of the dads doing the pitch. It was a momentous task I'll tell you. Literally covered for 3/4's until nearer to the Xbar end.
Then it started raining. I did 4 hours and the guy was still at it when I left.
I couldn't do the fanzone but will go down tomorrow and do it if it has been missed.
The lads give 20% of their share to the hospice apparently which is a nice gesture.
Could have just done with a cup of tea though.
Looked like everyone had a good time anyway.

The girl would have needed that ID cos she looked about 14.
