It's the fourth official that decides the amount of extra time as he is better placed to keep a check on all stoppages, for whatever reason. I have seen games with 9 minutes of added time in one half!

There was no foul on Farman
Both goals should have stood - Pete wild after the game speaking to me put it down to a mistake and wasn’t questioning it:

Farmans mistake was he was off the line.The Sutton player did not get the ball and go round him.but pushed him over then got the ball if that happened anywhere else it would have been a freekick.
Unless there has been a rule change of course clear free kick.

No he didn't. Adam is correct. Farman realised he wasn't getting the ball and deliberately made contact with the Sutton player in the hope of getting a free-kick.

And how many times do you see a free kick given ,on that basis Farman should have been booked , was he?

The Ref and the two linesmen are all back doing a Championship game this midweek; good to see such terrible decisions are punished from the EFL

Yes we've got to move on from this. Walsall is a big challenge ahead for us and nothing can be done now. Sutton away have been a bit of an unlucky ground recently. Lost 1-0 last year and played them off the park. We have got to get back to scoring goals again and stop conceding as well!

The match against Sutton at home October 6th 2018, we won 2-1 but Sutton had 2 goals ruled out, first one foul on Firth very soft and the second offside again very soft, we got away with it that day, on Saturday we didn`t.

Release I'm fairly late to the discussion here and that most will be looking ahead to the Walsall game by now, but just thought I'd add my two cents as one of the 126 that made the trip on Saturday.

As others who were at the game touched on, it really can't be overstated just how hot it was. Barrow fans were melting just standing in the away end. Even with the water breaks, I think it was incredibly optimistic to expect a half decent 90 minutes of football in those conditions.

That being said Josh Gordon really stood out for me. He never stopped running and did his best to motivate the rest of the squad to do the same. At the other end of spectrum, Jordan Stevens had an absolute mare when he came on. Farman was at fault for their goal.

I was amazed to read that Andy Davies refereed 25 games in the Championship last season. He was so inconsistent throughout and at times appeared incapable of making a decision without deferring to his assistants. Appreciate that referee's need help to make the right call, but they have to have an opinion of their own in the first place! This was summed up perfectly by the 4th official being allowed to step in and disallow a perfectly valid goal.

Tough one to take. But we move on and go again tomorrow night.

Had a chance to watch the highlights back a few times now and baffling how the officials messed that up at the end, player reaction said it all.
Referee maybe I can understand being unsure after the 4th intervened but how the linesman on that side missed it I'll never know....they said themselves after the game they weren't sure if there was a touch but the linesman ought to have. That being said they were poor and indecisive all game.

In the heat it was never going to be a classic and Sutton seemed to handle it a little better and grew towards the end whilst we tired and the subs didn't have the effect we would have wanted. First half was fairly even - Farman made two good saves one from a header he tipped over and a block with his legs but save of the match was the Sutton keeper palming a Foley shot onto the post. Second half was pretty uneventful and we had a couple of chances the best coming for Waters which somehow a defender blocked as he slipped, but it looked like a 0-0 until a long kick and lapse at the back. No foul, just an error but could've been 2 minutes later Farman made a good block with his chest so can't be too critical.

The players kept going to the end and Kay had a shot saved and we had a few set plays but unusually even with Rooney the delivery wasn't the best. Suttons subs seemed to strengthen them and they looked better at the end and I couldn't see Barrow getting back until the Rooney 'goal'. Farcical scenes as people celebrated and the ball went back to the centre circle. Player reaction for both goals said it all - no foul and no appeal on ours.

Deserved a point really and Sutton are a tough team to play and only time we didn't deal with a long keeper kick they scored from it...a tough one to take. Plenty of encouragement still though and as others say 6 from 3 isn't a bad start I think three weeks ago most would've took that. Sutton are no mugs either did well last season and are a tough team to play, very strong and physical and direct, don't concede a lot and I remember us battering them last season there and losing 1-0 with Zanzala fluffing a few chances, they'll be strong again.

Perhaps a few changes for Walsall needed as we seemed a bit leggy which is understandable in 34 degree heat, that and with the return of Ray, Solomon, Bennett plus seeing what Moyo has to offer there's plenty to look forward too.
