What a performance last night, Gordon, Gotts, Kay all deserve a mention but for me Foley and Neil have formed a fantastic partnership in midfield. They both break up play but when they get the ball know where they're gonna pass it before they've passed it, if that makes sense They don't hit spectacular 50 yard passes but do incisive 10/15 yarders. Superb.
Regarding the little scroats who taunted away supporters about a recently deceased fan, it's not really a surprise the depths cretins like that will stoop in today's society. Behaviour like that is not limited to the terraces but in every walk of life unfortunately, whether it's bullying on-line or just a general disregard of decent human behaviour. These people will have a worthless life to go with their worthless opinions.

Fantastic game last night with some lovely football on display, one of those that is virtually impossible to pick one player who stood out. Having said that I thought Brough, Kay and Foley were very very good. Another player who I’m massively impressed with is Whitfield, what a prospect he is, no wonder Stockport supporters were so disappointed to see him go.
If our watches were right we played more than the five added on, possibly two minutes more which would’ve been hard to take if that last shot of theirs went in.
I thought the ref had a decent game last night, if I’m being picky I suppose he could’ve booked laddo who was obviously trying to get one of ours booked in the centre circle.

Agree with most of what's been said here, but for me, that was the most significant performance and result I've witnessed since our return to the EFL. League 2 is a hard, unforgiving league in which industry, organisation and ruthlessness dominate. In two and a bit seasons, I've watched our team play some nice football, and win some key games but until last night I always felt that we didn't really "get" the L2 mentality, as nice performances were often overshadowed by naivity. Too often in the last two seasons we allowed ourselves to be bullied, and falling for sucker punches had become a bad habit. The sucker punch tendency has spilled over into this season too, but last night's final whistle, was, for me, a "THAT is how you do League Two" moment. Walsall were a physical, organised unit who had travelled up here to do a typical Tuesday night job on us, but our lads stood up to, and surpassed them in all departments, including work rate, physicality....and most of all, discipline. They even found time to play a few little spells of great football too. All over the park, I saw players put in a 95 minute shift, peppered with key moments and little personal battles but most significant for me was Josh Kay, a player of undeniable talent, who last night, in the face of some pretty rough treatment and provocation, "looked after himself " in impressive fashion, whilst keeping his discipline and focus....something he hasn't always done in the past.
When Walsall pulled it back to 2-1 in the first minute of the restart, I, like many, was dreading the next 44 minutes, but the capitulation didn't happen. We simply did not allow them back into the game. Very impressive.

Great post. Kay looks like a different player this season. As a club / team it feels like we are finally growing into our League environment. The build up pre match and during the game was brilliant.

As others have said Josh Kay played well last night but for me Josh Gordon was MOM. He only needed and deserved a goal to cap off a fantastic performance. Clark and Monthe will have nightmares about him. He never gave them a moments peace all game and turned and left them for dead on a number of occasions

Spot on both of you. Also feel Foley is class - very composed. I know Rooney is a different type of player but he's going to have to work hard to get a starting place in the team at the present time but it's great to see quality on the bench as well as on the field. Be interesting to see what our forward play will be like when Bennett returns or Moyo gets a run. My son who comes with me from time to time was most impressed with our first half performance but I agree we did not capitulate when they scored so early in the second half and that, to me, tells me progress is being made.
