Neil Tarrant’s goal v Nuneaton
Does footage of this exist?
Nothing on youtube but I thought i’d ask on here in case it’s in some private collection somewhere.

I’ve seen it somewhere Dave, it must’ve been on here at some point.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Good to watch. It's film from another age - teams running out instead of walking in two rows to line up in front of the stand. What was the occasion - it looks like we won?

FA Cup - we played Wigan in the next round and got walloped. They had the glamour of the ‘Three Amigos’ (Martinez, Diaz, Seba) but the bloke who did the damage was Tony Black who was born in Barrow.
Re: Neil Tarrant’s goal v Nuneaton
Cant find anything on the Tarrant goal- we didn’t really film games back then and surprised to see that one from 95 exists. A different era indeed. When whistling and expletives aimed at the ref to blow for full time began in earnest on 85 minutes.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

We've got something from him talking about it in a raffle but I think that is it

Re: Neil Tarrant’s goal v Nuneaton
Nice to see little Ashley Hoskin (aka Phil Collins) doing his thing after so many years.
Re: Neil Tarrant’s goal v Nuneaton
I see those were the days of full-length slides before knee-slides became the thing to do. I could have cheated and looked up the records but instead I decided to have a go at naming our 1-11 that started that 1995 match. I haven't watched it all through yet and it's definitely blurred but here's my stab at our line-up from 1 through to 11:
Mark Deegan
Chris Speake
John Kennedy
Ian Harold
Mark Salmon??? (Is it???)
Jimmy Brown
Can't say who number 7 is but I prepare to kick myself . . .
Stuart "Guvn'r" Humphries
Mark Dobie
Neil Morton
Ashley Hoskins (was he a plural or a single Hoskin???)
Corrections/additions are welcomed.

Too early for Salmo, more likely Jeff Parker.
It was Hoskin, but loads called him Hoskins anyway.

7 would've been Stuart Todhunter I think.pjdaly wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 11:18 am I see those were the days of full-length slides before knee-slides became the thing to do. Re: Neil Tarrant’s goal v Nuneaton
Sure I heard one of the players shout “Toddy” at one point.
Re: Neil Tarrant’s goal v Nuneaton
As mentioned above, I had a go off the top of my head without looking at the Michael Gardner book, "The Definitive Barrow AFC", but now having checked it I reckon I get 9 out of 11 . . . . . or 8.5 out of 11 if I am deducted half a point for pluralising little Ashley. Well done those above, number 5 was indeed Jeff Parker and number 7 was Stuart Todhunter. It seems that Eddie Kennedy was on the bench but I don't know if he got on to play (as I haven't watched it all the way through yet).

Blimey. He made the enquiry in October 2020. 18 years to the day of the goal.Lancaster Branch wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:42 am Does footage of this exist?
