My memory doesn’t recall anyone stepping up straight up from Conference north to EFL and taking the league by storm In the last five years.Van Der Nipper wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 5:17 pmAh so no player ever has stepped up in class and gone well.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 5:03 pm

Re: Players for next season
Owen moxon was signed from Scottish league 2 probably the equivalent level of NLN and has been the top rated player in league 2 this season. The club has to look in less obvious places for talent due to budget. Fully fledged league goal scorers are rare and very expensive.
Umerah at Hartlepool signed from Wealdstone in the summer 12 goals this season

Re: Players for next season
Did you know Moxon was driving vans this time last year (not a well known fact outside of RC HQ). I believe he is on the Hollywood Boys radar. As for Willoughby - and Stanway - Chester have just lost out in the NLN playoffs so if they are ambitious they may be easier to prise away.As for comments above I'm sure there are deluded fans out there who think we should be chasing Championship/L1 players and going for bankruptcyBig_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 5:37 pm Owen moxon was signed from Scottish league 2 probably the equivalent level of NLN and has been the top rated player in league 2 this season. Umerah was National League for Wealdstone signing for Hartlepool last summer. I agree Moxon was a good one who was recomended to Simpson by the Annan boss Peter Murphy.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 5:37 pm Owen moxon was signed from Scottish league 2 probably the equivalent level of NLN and has been the top rated player in league 2 this season. The loan market has served us well over the years. Tyler Smith springs to mind. Lewis Hardcastle Matty Platt and Tom White all came on loan originally then Smith apart signed for us permanent. They came to. us from clubs at a much higher level than us at the time .Add to that players out of contract and the players released market I hardly think there will be shortage of decent players available without having to go chasing a 25 year old Conference north player

Is this the official ‘pick any player at random and make a case for signing them’ thread?
Good to know which one to ignore when browsing the blog.

Josh Umerah. Scored goals in a poor Hartlepool side. Might score some some more in a decent one.
Re: Players for next season
Jamie Soule???? Has recently become friends with a lot of Barrow players. Think he was highly regarded by Evatt but COVID put paid to that

Re: Players for next season
After his release by West Bromwich Albion in the Summer of 2022, Soule had some set backs and didn’t sign anywhere untill February 2023. He has now agreed terms with Alvechurch FC and scored on his full debut - scored 5 in 14 games

Wonder if Wild has looked at Morecambe’s released list? Certainly one or two that will be in demand.
