If you can’t get the basics facts right I actually think it is a big issue and as was said in another post I bet the same mistake wouldn’t have been made if it was Carlisle.

Really good interview. PW always has a habit of creating optimism when he talks. He also uses a minimum of bullsh#t so you get the impression he believes what he says.

So if you believe him when he says he’s secured 95% of his targets so far, it would seem that each of them has a role to play of some kind in the coming season.

So 3-4 more in including a couple of quality loanees and then a couple out on maybe long term loan.

Good interview but I think Radio Carlisle should put Paul Simpson on last as he is the answer to insomnia.

The one problem PW caused was he far exceeded our expetectations .Most people would have been happy as long as we had finished above the relegation zone.

He is pragmatic and realistic the way he talked about Patrick Brough and Josh Gordon .

I would be happy for a good cup run purely for finances.

We wait with eager anticipation.

Yes he is pragmatic and doesn’t promise things or set goals on a whim. However it’s clear that he has set promotion not just as an aspiration but as an objective and has sold this to the players.

Based on his comments his expectation seems to be - steady as she goes until Xmas and then should we be in a mid table position, to push from there. Sensible as well as likeable.

The club is still on a steep EFL learning curve since promotion but with a season under his belt, better training facilities and a full close season window we are 100% better placed going into next season with Pete Wild at the wheel than in any other season since promotion.
Next season looks tougher on paper and the January window is where the big boys will flex their financial muscle but if we can just show continued development on and off the pitch then think we’d all be happy with that. We had 4 distinct poor runs last season- Sept / December/ Jan and April all saw us go on 4 or 5 game winless runs. If we can make these “bumps” shorter and less of them then we can improve on last season.

Would love a good cup run and the revenues that would help bring in.

That’s a great question. I read that quote as suggesting that of the players we’ve signed probably only one has been signed on a whim.

Question is therefore which one would that be. Personally my guess would be that it’s probably Dufus.

I understood it to mean that we had our targets and have got most of them - at least he didn't say we put in 110% effort to get them
