All 10 subs came on after 60 mins and the subbed players went for a shower, only Lillis left out of the 22.

If 10 was the maximum number of subs that could be used in a friendly, why were they all introduced in one go - any injuries & we would be a player down (or worse). Surely a mistake by the management.
Also, when they all came on, they came straight from the Changing room - where was the warming up etc ??

PW said in his last interview that's what would happen - the first group would get 60 minutes, it's about building game time. No mistake at all, it's a friendly.

I think Jason Taylor was warming them up on the Furness Rovers pitch.

Just seen the post match interviews have gone up - have we had more murals painted? Looks like they are in front of one of the main stand?

Seven of the Preston team who started the game featured in their final game of last season plus two who came on as second half subs so hardly a bunch of kids. Taken from the thread on the Preston forum which is over 20 pages long. Only bright spot is none of their recent signings plus a couple of injured players featured.

Two impressive Saturday performances. (I didn't see HOB game) suggest to me that PW, AT & JT will have serious thinking and difficult choices before naming the team for Tranmere.

Unable to go to Fylde on Tuesday but would be really interested to see the 'plast 30 minutes' team over the starting 60 minutes that are planned for them there. Even against a disappointing Preston side, they did very well, particularly following the injury which left them a man short for ~20 minutes.

In both games I have seen, the trialists for the B-team have not stood out as such. (For avoidance of doubt, that is a compliment.)

Preston fans were unsettled when Barrow took the lead and very quiet in the face of their team being mastered by the home side for much of the game. Some appeared to have left at half-time and others were leaving before the final whistle.

The referee (anyone have his name, please?) was impressive, penalising a lot of the niggles that have become endemic in our league games. North End didn't learn and continued to concede free kicks. The match stats would be interesting, to see if my impressions were correct, but I suppose they won't be publicly available for a friendly.

Good move, in the face of demand from Preston fans, allocating all the HSE to the visitors. The ~1200 home supporters were very easily housed in the stand and on available section of the popular side. Maximising revenue is important to us this season, at least as much as any, but whether sufficient toilets and catering are accessible to away fans in order to make use of any of the HSE than previously once the East Stand opens is debatable.
