Our accounts say different.

This. Finally turned us into a “proper” League Two club imho, been great to have no sleepless nights worrying about relegation. Increased the crowds and gave us some great days/nights out. Can fully understand the board/Wood being annoyed at how we completely bottled making the play offs but would also have been very happy to see Wild stay. Quite obvious there’s been a big disagreement that neither side could work past, and it goes without saying everyone wishes Wild well for the future, seemed a great guy who genuinely appreciated how many folk from a working class town spent their hard earned money following their team.
We have a director of football in charge and head of recruitment things will still be happening.
I would say losing a manager a few games into the season like we did with Paul Cox would be much worse than this.

The club comes first, irrespective of the owners, managers, or whoever might have an influence over and above the fans on the terrace and in the stand.
We want our staff and players to present loyalty to the cause come what may, and/or at least appear to be 100% pro Barrow.
On a day to day basis that is achievable, and we can get swept up by it, and Wild was very good at generating a feel good factor at the club with his winning fist bumps, and his clever rhetoric when interviewed, at least when we were getting good results.
Deep down we all know that in the long run, 99.9% of players and staff are out for themselves, entirely understandably, and heads will get, and do get, turned in an instant.
The badge thumping mentality is fragile and usually short lived. The examples of that at our club, in our league and across football are constant.
Personally I’m disappointed that Wild has gone, as he presented well amongst a league of clones, and not least because we undoubtedly have made footballing progress as far as results go. He was a breath of fresh air on and off the pitch.
So far the detail of why he’s gone is anyone’s guess, but in the most general of terms it must be because he and the board of directors no longer had each others back(s).
Ultimately the reality is that the owners have the power, or most, if not all of it.
The exception is probably an Evatt situation, where significant success brings an inevitable departure.
It’s just how it is, and I’m less bothered, as a lifelong supporter, that Wild has gone than I would be if Hornby and the others had said they’d had enough.
Time to go again, and can’t wait to see what happens next.
After last seasons failure i thought we would give him a third season .Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2024 8:21 am Being a proper supporter is an unquestionably lifelong commitment.

Mark ( don't want a fight over this ! ) but , he knows agents, people like Dan Ashworth !, surely this helps us when gaining knowledge of who's available, what type of person they are ? and just for example say a Manager was meeting other club's with regards to future employment, I think we'd soon find out!McMark wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 10:53 pmNot sure that our Sporting Director is the messiah some think he is.
