Interesting four page 'Pete Wild' thread on the Oldham forum. Several posters would like Mickey Mellon sacked and 'Mr Oldham' returned to his rightful place. On the flip side one poster in particular was very scathing. He said "Mellon has five promotions on his CV,Wild has not won anything and more to the point has just succesfully completed five succesive bottle jobs with Halifax and Barrow. On this occasion head trumps heart by a wide margin"

I had read his leaving letter to the fans full of sound bites.
Next season would have been crucial .At Oldham and Barrow he did well but like on.my school reports the remarks could do better would be written.
I thought he would have had to prove himself to get us promoted.
The truth will come out maybe he was looking to jump ship rather than a third season.
If he was hawking his mutton around other clubs he could point to the fact that he had us in the play offs and Barrow have him a extended contract ,not sure when it was offered.
The season with or without him would be a unknown quantity.,the main thing is we get a decent Manager in.

wouldnt cost any more to fund a season in league one, so long as you dont throw silly money at it.If we come back down so be it at least we've had the joy of being there .

I doubt Paul Hornby will deviate very much if at all from the official line put out by the club last Friday as he will be under the constraints of a confidentiality agreement between both parties.
A season review, how the search for a head coach is going ( unless appointed before Friday) and what’s going on in and around the club in close season wil probably be how the interview pans out
