All I will say to that one Hoss is Big Dunk!Bigfathoss wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 3:11 pm Don't know who it will be, but from the names mentioned, and as a lifelong Evertonian (BAFC ST holder for many years, don't worry) I would love it to be Leighton Baines. The man oozes loyalty and class. He's ready for his first managerial post IMO.
Barrow’s next manager

Re: Barrow’s next manager
If it is Clemence, and given what Gillingham fans have been saying, hopefully he'll come in with something to prove.
Popular side since '03.
Re: Barrow’s next manager
As long as the new manager never speaks the words "Bumps in the road" or "Best versions of ourselves" I'll be happy.
Re: Barrow’s next manager
If your coming to Barrow then sadly you ain’t going to avoid the potholes along the way.

As my wife once said to me “I don’t want a better version of you. Just one that keeps going a bit longer!”_bluebird_ wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 2:36 pm I certainly wouldn't be excited about it or see it as an upgrade on wild if it were to be true
Whoever it is doesn’t need to be better than PW. He was probably good enough. We need someone who is as good as Wild but with fewer of his weaknesses.

Re: Barrow’s next manager
Agreed that Wild blew it in his last few games, but perhaps the DOF was having a negative influence on Wild at that stage, or Wild knew what was coming and didn't like it, and lost his way a bit.
TBF Wild was hired as a manager, not a manager who would be asked to relinquish part of that role to a DOF. Despite not finishing in the play-off positions this year Wild gave us two of the best seasons the club has had for a while and should have been allowed to continue.

Have sympathy with this. 'In the building' is another one that irritates.
Am easily pleased, clearly.
That said, if we are winning football matches, I won't give a flying fig how he constructs his sentences.

So I take it, SB, you don't put enough work in in the garden?Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 3:45 pm As my wife once said to me “I don’t want a better version of you. Just one that keeps going a bit longer!”

Correct me if I'm wrong SB - as the current Mrs P points out that I often am - but doesn't having fewer weaknesses mean you are a better version?Suffolk Blue wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 3:45 pmAs my wife once said to me “I don’t want a better version of you. Don't let the old man in.

Been told its Leighton Baines.
Person who told me got Cooper ,Dunn and Brown right.
Lets see.
He was a good footballer .
Think he is a coach for Everton 18s team.

That wasn't a bump in the road in April. It was a sink hole half the size of the peninsula.

Please stop making excuses everyone knew something wasn`t right , we couldn`t have gone on like that it was a complete mess !bluessupporter wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 4:02 pm Agreed that Wild blew it in his last few games, but perhaps the DOF was having a negative influence on Wild at that stage, or Wild knew what was coming and didn't like it, and lost his way a bit.

Re: Barrow’s next manager
SB, at a time such as this – the pre-electoral period – would the term "kind MP" represent the ultimate oxymoron? Words such as devious, treacherous, dishonest, along with something such as "say-anything-to win-your-vote", seem to be more appropriate as accompaniments to the term "MP". I'm sure our poster Mister Pleasant is none of these things but your use of the shorthand of "MP" had me thinking about something completely different. But if "kind MP" is a highly oxymoronic idea at this particular time, the term "moronic MP" would surely not be oxymoronic in the slightest. (I am aware I am going off-topic here but that's fitting as that's what they resort to when they want to avoid answering a question).
Yes, I know, red card, I'm already walking . . .
Apologies . . . back to "Barrow's next manager" . . .
