A few blaming the wide men but what do the Center mids create? For all their hard work, going forwards they offer absolute nowt, wonder how many assists they have between them this season, not many at a guess.

As posted last night: "Main mid-fielders Campbell, Foley and Spence have 0 assists between them, having played all or most games".

You can add Gotts, Garner, Acquah, Feely, Telford, Dallas, Eccleston, Popov, Vassel, Stokes who also have 0 assists between the lot of them (in mitigation some of these have scored). The average number of appearances for this 2nd bunch is 9 games.

Jackson has 5 assists, Newby has 4 assists = 9 out of 12 assisted goals. 1 assist each by Canavan and Mahoney - both now injured. Kouyate has 1 assist.

So the combined assist contribution by the rest of the squad of 16 (excluding goalies) is 0.

So no need to guess any longer, unfortunately these are the cold, hard facts.

I agree with all those who have said the front line isn't getting great service. I think Kouyate is a good player in the making but is suffering a loss of confidence right now. On Saturday he had Stokes screaming at him that he couldn't take on the full back so he should just ***** pass it. I'd imagine the 1500 people in the Popular Side all heard it and it was hardly encouraging. If you saw the 'unveiling' of his stats for the FIFA game (or whatever it is called this year) then he was gutted that his dribbling score was regarded as so low because, in his words, that's his game. Early on this season he looked like a great addition. Exciting and driving at defenders. He needs a bit of faith to boost his confidence and he will be a substantial boon to us.

I hope he gave him a volley back after the goal - just effin’ defend it etc

No problem with players digging each other out although I can’t remember many occasions when it’s been done so obviously that I can hear every word at the back of the Pop Side.
