That's perspective! 😉
Yes.
In Pete Wild's first season, Barrow won 7 of their opening 9 matches (21 points).
We then lost the next 4 league games causing Wild to change the formation.
If we beat Notts County on Tuesday it will be the clubs best start to the season after 13 games since returning to the football league.

Got to agree with away support thing I'd rather drive up the M6 and watch Barrow at Holker St than take them to away games (and there are quite a number of away grounds nearer to me than Barrow) with my grandkids. I've also heard the fans having a go at the players after a poor performance in the past & its bad. I actually think Barrow fans away from home, although often loud, which is good, can be the worst offenders when things are not going to plan. I remember an incident two seasons ago at Crewe when we lost 3-0 and this fan was giving Wild the most unbelievable stick - it was actually pathetic on the fans part. Most away fans sections I've been in with other sides over the years often have a big sulk and moan and eventually disappear off when the team has lost. It really doesn't help the team when a core seem more interested it taking a delight in abusing their own players or management when we lose.

It was a poor performance. 12.30 kick off always makes the atmosphere worse and it was.

Formation...well we've just got that wrong.

I think it's a bit like the Wild 1st season, so let's see if we come out better. Work to do.

As for the rest. The support isn't that different to most. When things go badly, people react badly to each other and differences are magnified.

Some will lose their shit with the team, probably wrongly
Some will then have a holier than thou go at those losing their shit, probably wrongly.
Some will take their kids and moan about industrial language, arguably wrongly
Some will come on here and comment, like me, probably wrongly

There are odd times where Barrow teams have deserved absolute dogs abuse and it had the desired effect. Crawley away under Brown a good example. I just tend to slope off grumpily.

2pts
We had 17 after 12 games last season

1-2 win Tranmere away
2-1 win Sutton home
1-1 draw Accrington away
1-0 defeat Stockport away
1-1 draw Wrexham home
0-1 win Harrogate away
1-1 draw Newport away
1-0 defeat Mansfield away
3-2 win Doncaster home
2-1 defeat Grimsby away
1-1 draw Notts county home
2-2 draw mk dons away

W 4 D 5 L 3 from 12 games last season

That is our issue this season is we aren’t able to grind out a draw - it’s either win or lose and if we concede 1st we are struggling to fight back - similar to the first season under wild

Hope you can back that statement up 🤔
A fan was certainly slapped by a woman i witnessed it and according to reports I believe it was Kian Spence’s mother who slapped one of the fans.
Wow well done because you can put this in your statement if there's an enquiry, you must be congratulated on your public spirit outstanding 👏

Thanks Adam.
I knew we had more points than last season but at 78 my memory of recent events is not as good as it once was.
Now events that happened 50 or 60 years ago, well that's a different matter.

She should have hit him harder. Knock some sense into the ridiculous spiteful shouts that were happening

Whist I don't condone such actions,I can understand Kien Spence's mother getting increasingly annoyed if our so called supporters continue to shout insults at him.Kien Spence has only just come back after an infection and is probably not back up to his normal form.Kien Spence is one of our better players and it will do nothing for his confidence going forward if all he hears is continual insults.Neanderthals like that don,t belong on a football terrace.

The same people that will no doubt be calling out Spence if he doesn't resign a contract and goes on a free

Probably not allowed to say this because he’s from Barrow but his kicking in general is horrendous

Exactly …some people need to get some perspective. If Kian’s mother has the same tough attitude he has then I wouldn’t want to take her on! I have no idea what happened, but some of our fans need to think about who is in the crowd around them. There weren’t many of us at Doncaster but I noticed Chris Popov’s parents go down see him at the end of the match, as did a friend or family Katia Kouyate. Last season we had George Ray’s family behind us at Wrexham - just a few examples of family and friends in the crowd. It must be tough hearing abuse rather than justified criticism.

It was also good to see Niall Canavan and one of his kids in the stands yesterday - I don’t think he would have wanted that kid at the other end of the stands, where most of the abuse and language was coming from.

We don’t need to treat matches like they are in a church or library but the abuse the linesman got yesterday just for being there was embarrassing (and the stuff shouted at Paul Simpson’s son, the linesman at Doncaster, had my teenage grandkids wondering whether those shouting it have some issues). If you were on the receiving end of that, what would you do with marginal decisions?

Think he's probably well aware that there's work to be done on all aspects of his game, and I'm sure he's working his socks off to improve those things under a good coach and experienced keeper.

We get a chance Tuesday to put everything right in front of a home crowd at Holker street. , This should be motivation enough for the players to put in a big performance.

Lose & I think we could see the fans turn slightly on Clemence and the players.

I for one will be in attendance backing the lads nice win and clean sheet. 🤞
