Well, I believe 2 of our 3 best players are midfielders in Spence and Campbell with only Canavan at their level and I very much suspect that opinion will be shared with other clubs when their contracts end. I'll be amazed if they aren't wanted by the best teams in our league or a league higher but I'd wager a fair amount of money that none of our strikers will be on any higher team's wanted list.

Events are likely to prove that they are already playing for one of the best teams in our league and that they would therefore be unwise to consider any move without going to a higher level.

We'll see!

Watching Fleetwood v Salford, Stockton subbed at half time must admit looked disinterested and touched the ball about 4 times don`t know the transfer fee and wages Salford are paying him but on that display glad we didn`t go for him, I know several on here wanted us to break the bank and sign him but if you get the chance to watch a Salford games on Sky+ you just might change your mind about him.

Think at Barrow he worked hard and was probably one of the stars excuse the term and we played to his strengths very much like Quigley.
At Salford he is just another player and maybe not the focal point.

He did okay for us but always seemed to be faffing about with his hair band. Was he trying to keep a wig on or something?

Do you actually know how much some players are paid in leagues 1 and 2, including Barrow? From your comment you evidently don’t, so get real yourself. When I said tidy stash I didn’t mean millions as in higher leagues but enough to make you play as though you couldn’t be bothered as seems to have been the case here.

I would tend to disagree about Cole Stockton. Not really wanting to bring the Romans in to this, but what did he do for us except score goals, (which of course is far from a bad thing for a striker)? Seven in seventeen games for us are not to be sniffed at.

He certainly didn't work hard for others, pressurising the opposition and harrying opponents in the way that Garner and Acquah do, for example. Perhaps not a team player? He didn't repeat his good Morecambe performances at L1 & L2 with Burton in L1 last season where he got few starts and a similar story is emerging this season. It may be his time has passed.

Before taking the dog for a walk and getting back for the budget had a look at Cole Stockton`s playing record at Barrow last season in his 17 appearances he only completed 5 full games, was subbed off in 10 games and came off the bench in 2 games, he scored 7 goals which contributed to 9 pts, wins against MK Dons(1), Newport(1), & Grimsby(2) and defeats against FGR(1) & Salford(2).

Yeah he was no great shakes but compared to the others it was like having Garrincha. Just a thought but those little black 'tracking' vests they wear nowadays - can they deliver an electric shock?
