Every EFL crowd was down yesterday (bar those who had a large away following at their games)

Not worth its own thread but can the stadium announcer not put that downbeat Elton John ballad on at the end of the game. Just because it has blue in the title doesn't mean it's appropriate.

Got nothing to do with Stanway, how the f**k will a goalkeeping change alter our attacking play ?, he made 2 brilliant saves that were down to poor defensive play was that his fault ffs by all means be critical but that statement about Stanway is absolutely garbage!
Remind me when this poor run started. You have obviously never played the game to the equivalent of todays national league like myself. Albeit in the 70s.
I don't care what standard you've played at ,that conceited and arrogant statement doesn't even add up MOST of our respected major newspaper reporters have never played football but won awards for their reporting, also going by your logic should Adam not be allowed to Question Clemence because he's never played at a certain level of football? ( sorry for mentioning you Adam)
Actually before this run started we were winning yes but 3 of those wins were won by set piece deliveries not from open play!
At the beginning of the season we lost Whitfield he not only created goals he scored them ,he's not been replaced, we didn't sign a goalscorer either, we signed Dallas based on what I don't know, so we then went with Garner who had been so ineffective we loaned him out, Telford yes even I thought yes brilliant signing but unfortunately not worked out ( but are we playing to his strengths?).
Spence was also scoring goals he misses Whitfield because he often picked up his runs!
We also lost Tom White who was a great squad member who could do a certain job, we didn't even sign an extra midfielder !
I don't know if you were there yesterday but that had absolutely NOTHING to do with Stanway!
Anyway don't know why you come on here because our opinions don't count because to understand tactics, footballing decisions you have had to have played at a certain standard of football, what absolute F**King [SwearFilter].

I agree with a lot of this but not the Tom White bit. I don't think it's a coincidence Morecambe were more threatening after he went off. Unless the certain job is passing sideways and backwards.

I agree with this. I don't get the thinking behind playing it. People walking out are feeling down enough and it just adds to the feeling of being [SwearFilter] off. Please, never again.

First round draw Barrow v Doncaster was 2nd game that was drawn out so today and before the game yesterday Barrow/Doncaster ball number 2, will be what we could have had again, but we have to move on to what will be a very important game v Colchester.

Butterfly effect
Just because we were the same ball number doesn’t necessarily mean the draw would have acted out the same way so no point getting cut up over it

Listening to the RC interview (seemed to get a bit defensive about the tippy tappy comment) at about 5:20 SC says his 3 strikers aren’t target men (and Aquas out for a few weeks) prob my lack of football knowledge, but isn’t a striker a target man? Or is it the lack of height, hold up ability?

Probably not the most reliable source, but this link does mention that height doesn’t necessarily make you a target man
https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/fo ... target-man

If aqua is our only “target man” why didn’t we sign more in the summer.

Aye a target man doesn’t necessarily have to be big

Billy Sharp yesterday for example isn’t the tallest but did a fantastic job as the leading line upfront.

Ged Garner could do a job in that role for his hold up play. He just needs runners working off him - something we don’t do

Ok cheers, I think the tippy tappy comment was a fair shout, calling a spade a spade, SC probably just wound up with the result and didn’t like his style being criticised, but our lack of goals is a concern.

I don’t think we play tippy tappy football at all, (thankfully) rarely play it out from the back and the possession based stats don’t suggest we dominate possession. From what I’ve seen recently we are similar to last season with Wild when defending a slender lead and when we don’t look like scoring a second. We do squeeze defenders a bit more when opponents play out from the back. The same problem persists in and around the box and we don’t get enough runners into the box when attacking.

And it will stay that way until Clemence finally realises that at home the tempo has to be like the notts county game, I'm sick of this they're a good team etc excuse, we're showing team's far too much respect ,the approach we have now at home has to change if not Clemence will be gone at the end of November!
