I was told at work that the reason he hasn't gone before now is that the board don't have a lot of money so they're decision was made to back him in the transfer window whether that's a good reason only time will tell!

They should put some of that money to getting rid instead. No doubt his agent/md will have negotiated a good severance pay for themselves and the players on long contracts. Severance pay which we can’t afford - but the directors’ investment is on the line if we go down as attendances will plummet.

Our league position tonight doesn’t look so bad but all the teams below will be scrapping like hell to go up the table so watch this space as we could easily be overtaken if we perform like we did today against another poor side.

As poor as we were as usual up front, in the middle and at the back I think Harrogate deserve a bit of credit. Organised, motivated and from 1-11 busting a gut to get on the ball, pass the ball and win it back when the opposition have it. It's a simple game. Stop starting Gotts and Newby, far too lightweight together, put Acquah on the transfer list with Telford, Garner, Mahoney and anyone else who doesn't want to be here. Good to see Canavan back about the only chink of light on a dark day at Holker Street.

On your point of structure and probably a topic for another day, Darren Herbert had some mascots on the tannoy pre match and asked who they played for..... Askam and Morecambe came the response. Pretty telling about our lack of any structure underneath the first team.

I found that utterly hard hitting about where we are. Local kids playing for Morecambe. It’s debate for another time but really stood out.

Sad isn't it.

Long term we need to find serious investment if we are to progress as a football club unfortunately our current ownership structure isn't rich enough to develop us into a proper football league outfit and never will be.

Always thankful though for what they are doing with their own money when they don't have to.

The longer Clemence has been here and the more chance he has had to get comfortable with the job and impose his tactics on the team the worse we have got. It does feel like he lost the dressing room.

I didn't go to the game - used my £20 wisely on F&C twice with curry sauce at Mattie's - and going by the reaction of those who attended I made the right decision. Crowds are going to dwindle drastically, as floaters like me will stay away in droves until we see some improvement and some wins.
