Just because the contracts had 17 months to run doesn't necessarily mean that's what gets paid in the event of a termination. There is usually a clause in the contract specifying the amount of compensation to be paid in the event of dismissal.

Did he have Josh Kelly at solihull. Primarily a sub at wimbledon this season so would be one that could work.
