Our goal, a nice tidy move, great finish, goal of the game, but alas we concede the winner again in typical fashion. When they watch these games back do they not see this game after game that we are not doing enough to stop the cross? Am I not understanding the art of defending because it happens just about every game?

Before we win we have to learn not to lose, I thought playing three at the back was supposed to be more defensive. It doesn’t seem to be doing us any good.

Well he won’t be changing from 3 at the back anytime soon if his answer to Adam on Radio Cumbria is anything to go by when Adam asked about changing shape

Yep I heard that also but it’s all about getting results and he ain’t getting any regardless. We are so blooming soft play ok for an hour ish then blow it.
May as well play ten at the back and hope for a nil nil.

Still playing wing backs without having any actual wing backs.

I read on here the other day that we lost business because a dog was sat on the staff signing in sheet; and that’s much more normal than our refusal to stop playing 5 at the back

Sorry for the defeat yesterday but those Notts supporters were younger and faster than us and I just couldn't drink enough to keep up. I was not asleep during the 2nd half even if my eyes were closed

That clearance off/behind the line is how close we were to getting a draw. Yes, we had some poor moments in the second half, but we were very comfortable in the first. Read the comments from County fans on the BBC website - they think we were one of the tougher teams they have played at Meadow Lane. Their first goal was a lucky deflection but County did miss two sitters.

Some silly booing from some Barrow fans at the end, but most stayed to applaud the effort. A couple of things - where were Whits and Fletcher? Malcolm looked tired, maybe not match fit and I think Fletcher would be a better job than him at the moment. Secondly, having seen how good McCann was in a more forward role at Tranmere, I would push him forward more.

We have enough about us to beat Shrewsbury.

Tranmere are on a similar slide to us - they too have lost their last five.

They are 8 points ahead but have played two more games than us, so could be drawn into the mix.

They’ll only be drawn into it if we ever start winning!!

It’s only more defensive if you have wing backs who can defend and we don’t! The only way wing backs work is if they are full backs primarily but can overlap like full backs used to do! We’ve had plenty of ‘attacking’ full backs in the past and that’s what we need now.

Having slept on it and watched the highlights one thing sticks out. It’s the lack of desire to defend our goal when Notts scored. Not sure that has anything to do with formations as when we had the ball we looked good at times and our goal was from the best passing move of the game.
That desire to defend has imo been our big downfall. Not enough players willing to die for the cause, put bodies on the line, put heads in where it hurts, give rallying calls and demand 100%. Unfortunately in January we didn’t sign anyone of that ilk either

Sometimes do look like they lack desire or commitment.. fact is, they all get paid a decent wedge and they get t7heir money regardless..so you do have to question the mentality!

Every player who pulls on that shirt should be prepared to eat hand grenades!!! Want warriors out there...
