Danny Rose
Re: Danny Rose
Murray wants his type of player, hoofers and cloggers.
Whits will be next to go.
Good luck Danny.

Re: Danny Rose
At the risk of going full his legs have gone forum, one of Whitfields biggest assets was always his pace and ability to charge up and down the line, he just doesn’t seem to have that anymore. I’ve always been a huge fan but wouldn’t actually be that disappointed if he left now, and it seems like this Mooney will be coming in if he passes all the final medical checks etcspirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2026 6:14 am Not saying Whitfield is the player he was a couple of seasons ago but if Murray is going to persist with Cameron I’d be concerned who will be the player to put the crosses in if Ben is the next to go.
Rose seemed a great signing at the time but it’s just never really happened, he did actually seem to try/care at least towards the end of last season when many didn’t. Harper and Jackson next hopefully
Re: Danny Rose
When he joined I read plenty from Grimsby that he was exactly the player we needed for a scrap at the bottom. I never really saw that and he was kept out the team by Josh Gordon for the most part.
Not sure we ever played in a way that would get the best out of him and can't imagine playing under 4 different managers in 8 months is the best environment either, which highlights the shambles of this last year. He's not the first striker with good career and reputation that's arrived here and flattered to deceive.

Popular side since '03.
Re: Danny Rose
Never worked out for him and another in a long line of strikers who never really made a mark here.
Still searching for the Young Soul Rebels

Re: Danny Rose
There was a couple of games last season (Colchester and Bromley) where he showed passion and fight, really getting stuck in and giving their defenders a tough afternoon. He seemed to lose hope with the rest of them by the end though and like so many went missing. Definitely a player there though.
Have to say, I think big Innes will get over 20 goals this year.

Re: Danny Rose
With a strike force of Danny Rose and Josh Gordon* Exeter will be heading for the National League sometime soon.
*can't fault Gordon's effort, but he's a worse penalty taker than Ines Cameron and can't head the ball either.

Re: Danny Rose
To ago down to the south coast to Exeter tells me he must have been desperate to get away. I remember hearing Steve Evans saying when Rose left Stevenage for Grimsby that he let him go due to him hating being down south as he was to far away from family
Re: Danny Rose
Be interesting how Danny Rose performs at his new club. It didn’t happen for him here and there are all the excuses in the world as to why!
Great players don’t become carthorses or stubborn mules overnight and I think DR will go on to prove he is still a great player.

Very much like Rooney who left to share child minding with his wife who was a nurse.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2026 7:32 am To ago down to the south coast to Exeter tells me he must have been desperate to get away. Them suddenly re appeared to then leave again.
Looks like we are building a team like Cox gave us big but not as strong
Re: Danny Rose
I was one of the people hoping he'd be a great player this season up front with Reid but its not to be for what ever reason (doesn't want to be here, wanted league 2, family, not in plans of the manager) so hopefully another addition is on the way in to replace him esp as the league transfer window has shut so some players will be looking for clubs in the NL now.
Re: Danny Rose
which just goes to show - that we are still very much a work in progress !

Re: Danny Rose
Glad he’s gone. I’ve never seen a player look so unhappy in a Barrow shirt.

Re: Danny Rose
He has been a bit like Dom Telford when he arrived. Both came with excellent reputations, but both faltered and ultimately disappointed in a Barrow shirt.
I suppose Rose is different in that Murray inherited him rather than chose him, and currently he doesn’t fit the bill.
Like everyone, I hope we find someone who will flourish in this league.
Hens teeth, and all that.

Re: Danny Rose
He was a lazy waste of space and he didn’t want to be here from day 1. No doubt picked up a nice wage for nothing in return , spent most the time throwing his arms about on the floor.
Good to see the club and Murray getting rid of these types of losers.
