Re: Danny Rose
Mikey lane will bring the goals
Re: Danny Rose
No Russell that will take time but positivity breeds positivity and we were the better side today by a distance. Far from the finished article but it will come.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2026 1:16 amIf he actually believes "we're very, very close to being a really good team" he's living in a dream world!McMark wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2026 7:32 pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0p80 ... are-mobile

I'm just grateful for some points but most of these matches are just kick it forward aimlessly, grab hold of any player near you and foul any player who goes past you. Totally anti-football and not worth watching.McMark wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2026 5:51 pmNo Russell that will take time but positivity breeds positivity and we were the better side today by a distance. You could argue the first goal involved a bit of that but not the second or third. As I said far from the finished article yet.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2026 8:01 pmI'm just grateful for some points but most of these matches are just kick it forward aimlessly, grab hold of any player near you and foul any player who goes past you. Re: Danny Rose
It’s gritty football, with lots of nasty fouls, shirt pulling, fake injuries, and other dark arts, but strangely at the minute it’s quite a good watch. We are tough and we are unlikely to be outmuscled. Occasionally pure footy breaks out.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2026 8:01 pmI'm just grateful for some points but most of these matches are just kick it forward aimlessly, grab hold of any player near you and foul any player who goes past you. I find it quite engrossing and it’s massively better entertainment than the c**p served up to us last season.
Have to remember it’s NL. TV can provide an alternative, but can’t beat live sport.
I’m quietly confident we’ll be ok and even better, but we all have to adjust our mentality to the league we are in. Alternatively don’t bother going and sit on the sofa and watch the box.
It occurred to me this afternoon that I support Barrow, above and beyond football in general.

Re: Danny Rose
Our second goal was from a long punt forward from a free kick laid off by Reid for Marriot to run on to the second from a goal kick that after leaving Winterbottoms boot Whits ran on to.McMark wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2026 8:45 pmYou could argue the first goal involved a bit of that but not the second or third. Standard fare I’d say on the whole in National league.
We did have a great end to end passing passage of play early in the first half resulting in a miss hit from the edge of the box. Apart from that the result was great the quality not so

The 2nd goal was headed on by Reid to George Walker who held the ball up then played Marriott through.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2026 9:16 pmOur second goal was from a long punt forward from a free kick laid off by Reid for Marriot to run on to the second from a goal kick that after leaving Winterbottoms boot Whits ran on to.

Re: Danny Rose
Nige, Wintergreen shouldn't be getting stale about attending Holker Street for although I have photographic evidence showing him celebrating on the pitch as long ago as 6th May 1967 he's still many, many years younger than me and I still manage to limp to the matches on my walking-stick.

We all felt a little like that at times with this summer's weather.
