Nothing has changed at the club really since the Wilkie days.

Can’t operate like that in 2026

Lancaster play at a lower level so investment wise it wouldn’t take as much money to invest in an NPL semi professional club than it would ourselves.

Added to the fact both access wise are much easier to get to and much more serviceable than Barrow

Lancaster for example you can get to from London direct
Come on Adam I'm not buying any of that , as I've previously stated we lack any sort of plan/ strategy as to where we want to be, how we are doing ( barrow bid ) to upgrade the stadium..
If we don't know our strategy to take the club forwards then we'll keep on just firefighting.
The board need help Paul Hornby might put on a brave face but the last few years have been an absolute nightmare and this season hasn't started good!
I'm not kicking the board when we're struggling, I've always said these things, I just wish I had the money to help out but we need more honesty, I don't want anything sugar coating but after this season without any more financial input we're in big trouble!

Last night there was 581 at the Solihull game, 581!! yet, looking at their official site, they have four times the amount of club partners, an online merch store and range we could only dream of, a brand new stand with hospitality boxes, teams at youth level, women’s team, a full 16-19 yrs Academy set up…We are absolutely miles off any of this. There is no denying it even in this league we will struggle to have the same infrastructure and resources as many of the other clubs.

As said above the club is in a real mess on and off the pitch. Most said that there wasn’t a lot of faith in Hornby getting the next appointment right and sadly that seems to be proving true. From a football side he seems absolutely out of touch and naive. The choice and type of managers from Dunn to Jolley, to Phil Brown who almost got the job over Wild don’t forget, to now Adam Murray with a few in between has been absolutely random and bizarre. Totally differing styles and ways. Recruitment of managers and players has been a disaster and we’ve currently assembled a National north level side. Are we cutting our costs and are hurting more than admitted after last season? Were told this is a healthy budget for the league but our position is anything but.

Even if Murray was to be sacked the problems go way deeper as someone else said and it’s hard to see any positivity in the future with dwindling crowds and resources, and an owner who seems to fall for every car salesman manager that he interviews. Worrying times. They were given a great opportunity to build on a default promotion and absolutely blew it and that’s criminal we’ll never get that chance again.

The vision should have come 5 years ago, when the energy was there on the back of promotion, but the whole focus was on becoming EFL compliant on the back of a global pandemic, and replacing Evatt. Everything was put into that. The remarkable thing is we had 6 seasons in the EFL and gave a few of the big boys a bop on the nose. Good whilst it lasted, but it was never going to last without all the other things that are needed to be an established EFL club.

Adam needs to stop operating as Hornby's propaganda wing, and start doing some investigative journalism into what's actually going on at the club.

Very good compare and contrast observation. We're in the doldrums for sure but you can only wee with the willie you've got so we must endure. I think now that The Board seems to be a part-time one man band, Mr Hornby's overriding ambition would be to attract significant investment. However, with no one showing any significant interest even when we were an EFL club he could do worse than approach Team Barrow to see if there is a deal to be done. Believe me, Team Barrow are dying to do something with the soccer and rugby to provide a visible showcase for their investment in the community.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

We know what’s going on; Murray signs loads of players early in the summer to get bodies in the building then realises they aren’t good enough so signs a load more. The track record is there

It’s quite clear when you look at the club contacts section of the website we need more people on the board; even if they aren’t massive investors at this stage

1 major development at the ground in over 30 years and that was a roof. Not counting the temp commonwealth games shelters.

Location could definitely put investors off. Personally as a start, I’d be putting videos on social media selling that the club is actually based in Manchester.

More behind the scenes stuff. Take a look at Dorking Wanderers for example. They’ve just had US investment on the back of having a behind the scenes youtube show.

Anything would be worth a go at the moment because this club is sinking quickly towards Lancaster/Workington Christmas and New Year fixtures.

The problem is Hornby says we need new investment but we don’t see any pro-active work being done to try to get new investment. Maybe there is maybe there isn’t but if there is let’s see what’s going on. Maybe supporters could help to promote and sell the club to possible investors but they can’t if we don’t know what work the club are doing to try and attract them

Might be wrong but I'm Sure Paul Hornby said they were working with a company about how they could increase their commercial interests!

He maybe did but we still don’t have a ground sponsor after two potential sponsors pulled out due to us being relegated
We do have a Sam who appears to be working very hard on the commercial side promoting events and room hire etc The clubs social media feeds are more proactive promoting anything and everything. Barrow afc IIRC Sam was at Hawcoat park before working at Holker street

Re:..Sending off

BAE Systems I believe made an operating profit of 1.5 billion (with a 'b' ) in 2025.
Approx 13.500 workers in the town helping that figure. Surely 1 million (with an ''m')
for sponsoring the stadium per season is not beyond BAE.....75 POUNDS PER EMPLOYEE....1.50 POUNDS A WEEK....or .0667 of one percent profit per year
