I'm not claiming it is but it's the one that the manager praised, if I remember rightly, after the pre-season opener.Mancbluebird wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:18 pmWith all due respect holkers slanting pitch is not football league standard.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 2:27 pm

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
A starting point would be to ask what is a typical week for a professional footballer with only a Saturday game to play - how is it divided between rest, individual recovery exercises, physio monitoring, gym work, on-pitch coaching and so on. (We apparently have use of a fitness centre and use of our own rooms in Wilmslow, which, if I recall correctly, our manager was very pleased with.)
Presumably, in general, one weekday (Monday?) will be a day off in lieu of working on Saturday and many Fridays will include travel to Barrow (for home games) or somewhere far-flung (for distant away games) where Pre-match training will take place.
I did submit a question for Paul Jones on Friday's BBCRC coverage about how, what and where training was in the FA Trophy season (and what was done differently in the week of the final) but that appeared not to have made the cut.
I would find it interesting to learn how that contrasts with a typical week's programme nowadays in League 2 with the benefit of strength and conditioning coaches, Catapult monitoring and so on.
I think our manager spoke of it taking up to three years for a club promoted to the EFL to develop appropriate structures and facilities. We are fifteen months on since promotion was confirmed.

What did Evatt do to make us so professional interests me that has been stated quite a lot previously and how did we in theory slip backwards that would be interesting in the next meet the directors night for an answerHadrian wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 7:05 pmA starting point would be to ask what is a typical week for a professional footballer with only a Saturday game to play - how is it divided between rest, individual recovery exercises, physio monitoring, gym work, on-pitch coaching and so on. Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Evatt made good use of Hopwood Hall that for him proved to be a a good venue. He also brought in the Friday night stop overs at the Dunes prior to a Saturday home game and the light training sessions at various venues in Barrow on Friday afternoons before Saturday home games.Mancbluebird wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 11:00 pm

Unfortunately the pandemic was the start of us slipping backwards IMO and brought unforeseen difficulties at Hopwood Hall. Limited preparation of training pitches and social distancing from other users at Hopwood Hall made Evatts replacement David Dunn ask the board to move training venues. The various places we have trained at since and this seasons debacle is well documented
Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
I recall that an outside coaching organisation was also involved at times with coaching and skills drills at Hopwood. They put some videos on YouTube as examples of their work which looked impressive but a cursory glance at YouTube hasn't allowed them to leap out at me.
(Similarly, but unrelated being from pre-Evatt, a video of Tim Erlandsson training seems to have disappeared. (Not this one!)

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Now an article in a national newspaper stating no training facilities, no balls, bibs or cones to use in pre match warm up and rats in the halfway house the players stay in. Embarrassing
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Credit to Holker for letting us use there facilities but I wonder how they will feel in the depths of winter and there ground is soft and muddy, can’t imagine there players and staff being to pleased to have us digging it all up especially on the same day as they have a match.MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:25 pmI'm not claiming it is but it's the one that the manager praised, if I remember rightly, after the pre-season opener.Mancbluebird wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:18 pm

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
It may be The Sun, however imo still embarrassing for the club for an article like that to be printed. Doesn’t paint is in a very good light let’s be honest. Although it says the board are trying to rectify the problems, they shouldn’t be there in the first place

Re: Training Facilities ? Physio
Where is our new training base? Adam metioned it on his post match interview on Saturday with Cooper but I didn't catch where it is.
