Re: Ian Evatt
Is anyone else sitting here looking at all this and smelling a bit of a rat. I have a niggling suspicion that this has been well and truly on the cards for quite some time. Little things like IE coming off twitter a few months back, comments about 'those players will go down in local folklore - not...

Re: TOP AWAY DAYS
Yes; Bolton and Woking. 'Remember The Woking' used to be sang in The Holker End. Total canage down there, that day. I was on that train that traveled to Euston. It was Bedlam! Cans of Beer and bottles of Spirits were being sold for peanuts. Apparently someone had done an Off-License the night before...

Re: Worst Away Days
I shouldn't have implied that it was the pub's regulars involved with the incident. There had been some problems in a recent game at Bishop Auckland and there was a decent mob lurking about ready to take issue with Barrow supporters. We guessed that they could have been Newcastle but we never reall...

Re: Brian Arrowsmith
Arraz1 - it’s nice to know that your family has taken some small degree of comfort from the thoughts and tributes on this thread. Like many others on here I have been thinking about Brian a lot these last few days. If the club had one individual at the very core of its heart and soul it was Brian A...

Re: The day the referee scored
I was at that game.
Didn't some geezer cycle all the way from Plymouth to attend the fixture? I remember reading about it in the EM. I think he traveled to every ground in the league that season, by bike, to cheer on Plymouth Argyle. Some kind of record he was attempting.

Re: Zigger
I think we have discussed this previously but at the time of transition from Ziggers to Bluebirds (circa 1967), Donald Campbell was in the news a lot with his water speed record breaking attempts in 'Bluebird' on Coniston Water which is technically in the Furness area. It was said that this was a f...

No; mate. You obviously don't understand the meaning of the word. Explain if you wish to?

Re: Mental Strength and Showing Bottle
Is there anyone who's got the balls (apologies Holkerbird) and the intelligence to debate on here rather than bully fellow members with nasty comments?

Re: Mental Strength and Showing Bottle
Not nice, that, mate; is it?
A nasty comment from a nasty person.
Another Forum bully!
You'd better off arguing your point of view regarding my post. Can't do that, can you? Maybe you're a bit thick, eh?

Re: Barrow and foolball league review
Is that Eddy Garbett with the ball?
Never seen that photo. Cheers!
I have quite a few Football League Reviews stashed away somewhere. Used to get them free with the programme, right? Got quite a few old BAFC programmes with Fred Else diving on the front cover.

Re: Mental Strength and Showing Bottle
Those saying that my post was nonsense and drivel, get a grip! Can you pinpoint the parts that you perceive to be nonsense and drivel? You'd think that I was taking a crack at the team! I was merely being objective and stating an opinion. Is that okay on here? I've probably followed the club for mo...

Hope it works out favourable for us and other clubs too. Any loss of income could have a devastating impact on many.Steelworks End wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 11:52 am The National League are having a board meeting this lunchtime (dinner time in Barrow) to decide what to do.

Not trying to upset anybody.
She shouldn't accuse me of winding people up. Works both ways.
I'll speak my mind. And express my own opinions. Is she a member of the Gestapo or something?
I'll wear my bovver boots if she comes near me...
