I expect the board thought they had turned it round too. We may never know but I very much doubt the blame lies with the board for his departure.

The Board have been upfront so there has to be a good reason for this

He has been a scout for Millwall in the years since leaving us so must have some contacts. Held in high regard as a former player at Luton and contacts at Liverpool.
However no way would he put himself through the managerial role as he is happy doing what he is doing.

I don't really know what to think. I put my trust in the board AND in Pete Wild. Now I don't know who to trust, and I won't until/unless someone coughs up an open and honest reason rather than cut and paste from the sacked manager book of cliches.
For my mind, Pete was the first success story for the board as far as managerial appointments go. Evatt was already there (I think). Dunn was useless, Jolley was the worst manager in my lifetime, Cooper was a nasty piece of work (Rob Kelly kept stepping up to his credit, and Phil Brown was a joke appointment). I thought they had turned it round.

He wasn’t backed in January, and fell off a cliff because of it. Board happy making their £££ in league 2 and comfortable staying there. The club making the decisions with no manager influence. Not backing wilds vision will bite them further down the line. They need a yes man and hope they got one soon. Just hope we don’t bounce around managers again, 9/10 players and no manager going into preseason won’t be good, needs sorting ASAP.

Another point Telford, proctor, Acquah, garner all very poor. Acquah 8 goals & Telford 4 goals, over a season that’s shocking.

Think this summer is one that the fan base need to unite over and back whoever takes over. I wonder how Pete will look back on his time at barrow. Will he see it as a success or a time to learn from /resent? I hope there isn't a sour taste left between both him and the players he brought in (specifically Campbell and spence the two I'd build around)

We are 6 weeks away from pre season with our director of football in charge who is responsible for all football matters we'll be absolutely fine.

Agree I feel our Director of Football is the brains behind our success. I would have been concerned if he’d left, I genuinely feel Pete Wild sadly won’t be missed in a few months. In Iain Wood we trust.

Very interesting to see the BBC have changed their story on the BBC Football Page -The headline was Barrow sack Pete Wild and that was also the first line of the story, it’s now been changed to Barrow part with Pete Wild, clearly someone has complained.

The statement says it was mutually agreed. Levels of mutuality vary in football, but that’s what it says.
