Yes, that second-half was a pleasure to watch after a slightly worrying first-half when we didn't look like we could open up a poor Gillingham side.

Foley is an example; local kids should watch to see how a model pro performs, irrespective of the years on the clock. Good to see Spence back doing what he was doing last season.

What a great goal by Tyler Smith . . . I suppose I should rephrase that because it was a simple goal, the sort that you or I would have put away (well, maybe not I, as my zimmer might have got in the way). But when I say 'great goal' I just mean he was in the perfect place at the perfect time and that makes a refreshing change as my counting ability doesn't run high enough to tally up how many balls across the six yard box over the last few seasons have found nobody there on the end of them.

I quite agree, it's as if they have had shackles taken off and are all going forward and getting into decent positions.

Great win. Tyler Smith running into the box and pointing to get it in front of him is exactly what we have needed up front. Good movement. Pleasing to see us getting more shirts in the box when we on the attack. We've missed that.

That could be said of both teams.
When we played at Gillingham on the 28th September (immediately after the Chelsea game) Barrow were top and Gillingham second.
The teams then changed places.
It's since been a fall from grace for both teams.

Looked at the Newport pitch last week when we were there - immaculate! also had rugby pitch markings, do they share they ground? Maybe we should share with the rugby?

Look across the leagues. The onky pitches looking good atm are the hybrid ones, so unless you have 250k under your mattress to donate, it's where things are.
It was reseeded last week, so just need a bit of an increase in temps to get it going now.

Very sketchy 1st half and it had score 1st and win 1-0 to either team written all over it. Second half much much better, Spence 1st goal pretty much knocked the stuffing out of them and we took control. 3 well worked goals. Think Williams and Foley at the back worked brilliantly but Foley would struggle against faster players. Jacksons passing has dropped off quite a bit but it didn't effect the result. Massive test is Tuesday, can we go and do it again against a better team than Gillingham? Then a couple of away matches where we have been poor this season.
Pitch isn't 100% great but have you seen the weather we've had here for months ! - theres been worse on the FA cup tv games !

Watched the EFL highlights programme and there was probably only two decent pitches in League Two.

Colchester and Salford stood out as being worse than ours.

Without excessively restating the point, Tyler Smith has this ability to find space in congested areas and is so quick from a standing start. Both goals he’s scored since returning remind me so much of the skills he developed when with us before. Though he looks to have grown a couple of inches. Terrific result yesterday.
