A new low...
Yesterday was a new low for this forum. Chiefs attack on John Mckay was an absolute disgrace and I was glad to see the moderators pull it. This forum has been going downhill for some time now as it has been taken over by a handfull of malcontents whose constant ignorant criticism of the board is jus...

Re: A.G.M Notices
Well done for getting on your bike to help out the club. Any regular reader of this forum might be under the impression that the club consistently refuses the help of volunteers such as yourself yet you have managed to make yourself very useful. I suspect a lot of offers to volunteer for the club ar...

Re: Outdone by the rugby lot!
The fact is we are in direct competition with the rugby. Barrow is a small town and cannot sustain two semi-professional football clubs to a high standard. There is a limited amount of money in the town, a limited number of potential supporters and a limited number of businesses to provide sponsorsh...

Worth Celebrating?
Next season will be our 100th in a competitive league. Although we celebrated our centenary as a club a few seasons ago because of the small matter of a couple of world wars and the fact we didn't join a league for a couple of seasons after forming we have completed 99 seasons in various leagues so ...

Re: Stockport and us
Another link with Stockport- we were both founder members of the Lancashire Combination Division B in 1903. In Stockports case it was not their first team but their reserves. They finished 4th and were promoted while we finished 9th. Stockports 1st team were playing in the Midland league that season...

YES- we should be on our knees begging him to stay. Give him a five year contract!
Next season will be tougher than most people think.

Re: Glad it's over
Very wise Spirit!! And what a fantastic job you are doing with the ground maintenance. I think all supporters are interested in the work going on- there has been an incredible 21,000 hits on the ground maintenance thread and it has been inspiring to see the response to Exiles donation. Keep up the g...

Re: Stockport and us
The last time we were relegated together Stockport were 12th and we were bottom of the old fourth division. Hopefully that won't be repeated next season! On paper you would expect Stockport to get promoted at the first attempt but just look at Luton. They were in the old first division, have won the...

Re: Glad it's over
Barrowabc- I have really enjoyed your postings over the past couple of months. What I have liked is that you have always had a very positive attitude and have always backed the manager and the players instead of moaning and finding fault like the what seemed like the majority of posters at times. Al...

Stockport and us
When we won promotion to the Third Division by finishing 3rd in Division 4 in 1967 Stockport were promoted with us as Champions. When we were relegated from Division 3 in 1970 we were next to bottom and Stockport were relegated with us as bottom club. In our last season in the football league in 197...

Re: YESTERYEAR
I can"t remember the Rotheram game but I can remember us beating Bristol Rovers 3-0. I was under the impression that Mclean was a recent signing, so I don't think he had gone most of the season without scoring at Holker Street! He scored against Rovers but he did not impress me. This had nothin...
